That looked like Olympic Park in the 1st season of the A-League! LMAO :)

Anyways, has anyone heard what's going on with Craig Moore? Is he coming back to oz after this years premiership season is over? There was talk he'd go to Qld.

I'm sure Qld will stay at Suncorp, it would be suicide moving to Ballymore. Bad PT links & poor amenties = no crowds. The crowds were really picking up towards the end of last season anyway.

If Newcastle offer him a contract extension I'd say he'll stay. He's probably a bit past it for the Premiership, but their backline has been so godawful recently that he's looking like one of their better options at CB. Bramble is awful, and Onyewu's done so badly so far during his loan period I can't see him being signed at this point.

He'll definitely finish at Newcastle either this summer or next though, and I can't really see him going anywhere else except for home.

Not sure mate. What i don't understand is why he has to appear in court at a later date for sentencing? Isn't it just the magistrates court? Anyways, i guess this is going off topic & we should be discussing the team.........I wish we had something to discuss though! lol

I hope Qld has a good year . . . I picked up Roar FC as my 3rd favorite club midway through last year, and the only club I support outside North America.

    Go ROAR!!!!

Nah I don't mean it as a insult or anything. Just want to know how someone on the other side of the world starts following an a-league team. like was it word of mouth, did he see something on youtube? i dont know.

    is that ok, wezza?

Re: Official Queensland Roar FC Thread [R]

After reading about the A-League here on these boards and subsequently surfing to some Australian soccer message boards, I found the similarities with the American soccer landscape intersting, which enabled me to relate to the game over there more than other soccer leagues and teams I guess.

As a result, I read a lot about the teams over there and just gravitated toward QLD. It's just that simple. I wasn't a big European soccer fan before MLS to be honest.

I was a World Cup fan since my youth (1970's & 80's), but there wasn't a whole lot of exposure to Euro leagues over here during those days, just the Mexican league (which is why I follow UNAM). I knew of the EPL, Bundesliga and others, but just never got into it to be honest. I guess I gravitated towards the Roar and the A-League due to their similarities with MLS, I could relate to the game and the fans more than trying to pretend I've been some life long ManU, AC Milan, Real Madrid, Barca, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Chelsea or Inter supporter because I like soccer.

Additionally, Fox Soccer Channel has a weekly A-League review show during your season, which allows to me follow the league even more. I'm not going to profess that I'm all knowledgeable in all things A-League, but I have a pretty high interest level. I can say I've been following the Asian Champions League for the very first time.

    1) FIRE

    2) UNAM
    3) ROAR

    Thanks Wezza!

Is ther a good QLD supporters forum? I used to post on one then it went dark. Now there's one for the Orange Army, but it has very light traffic.

    What?! When did that happen?

Looks like the ROAR have some decent options in front of them.
