LOL there is no way that is legit. Clearly the pro-boca press invented that to make the fans feel somewhat better about Tevez abandoning the club in the middle of the season to go cash in. MLS clubs don't pay that kind of money. How much did they play for Lodeiro, a far superior player? I wouldn't be surprised if they offered around 5 million, but come on, does anyone really believe that?
True... Plus, Angelici would have probably already gotten his mafia to finish the guy off if he blocked those kind of dollars from entering his bank account
10m is the record fee paid by an MLS team (TFC did it twice on Bradley and Defoe) There have been plenty of 5-10m range transfer fees paid in the last few years by MLS teams. Seattle are one of the richer teams and have the ability to lay down a fee like that.
RIP Roberto Cabanas... http://www.socceramerica.com/article/71943/roberto-cabanas-the-beautiful-game.html I was surprised, disappointed really, that Cabanas didn’t go on to become a world-class star. He played for eight different clubs, including America de Cali and Boca Juniors. Always a fan favorite, always a goalscorer. He had his World Cup moment in 1986 when he scored twice, enabling Paraguay to tie Belgium, and ensuring passage to the next round. But the breakthrough to super-stardom never happened. My memory of Cabanas is of the sturdiest sort, of a smiling young man who gave me (and no doubt a mass of others) immense pleasure whenever I saw him play, and who helped me to understand that there are mysterious dimensions to soccer that will never be understood by those who insist on analyzing the hell out of it with their accursed charts and diagrams and schemes and formations. Thank you Roberto for giving us the magic, the joy -- and of course the beauty -- that are so important to the beautiful game.
Boca Juniors now being linked with Manchester City's Willy Caballero. https://t.co/LxQT78Vxdp— Roy Nemer (@RoyNemer) January 16, 2017
Not sure how I feel about that potential move. By no means a bad acquisition but also not a keeper that excites me.
Now MLS wants to take our coaches? https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017...ermo-barros-schelotto-first-coach-report-says I would only accept a move if it was to my Rowdies.
What's happening on the transfer front? Lots of names mentioned but fairly quiet compared to what River are doing? Is Messidoro going to Tucuman on loan or are they buying him from Boca?
This is where we are so far Ricardo Centurión: Sao Paulo accepted Boca's offer after he refused to go to Genoa. Paolo Goltz, Edwin Cardona and Cristian Espinoza are the new reinforcements. Jonathan Silva wants to return, but it looks like Sporting will not accept Boca's best offer. Betancour, Werner and Tobio are gone. Wanchope Abila was bought by Boca but may go on loan to Huracan. Boca is in negotiations for Walter Montoya. Esteban Rolon and Jesus Medina (a young Paraguayan midfielder) are also possible additions. Carlitos Tevez might return, but not until December. And Alexis Mesidoro is going to Cruzeiro.
So Boca won't sign Centurion after all. Too bad, he adds on the field, but it's just too much baggage off the field. Too many problems.
90 minutos on FOX Sports argentina confirm an offer from Fiorentina has been received by Boca for Frank Fabra, the amount has not been disclosed. Boca intend to resign Jonathan Silva from Roma as a replacement.
Mauro Zarate, Mr “I won’t play for any club in Argentina other than Velez”, with a shock move to Boca. Hell of a move, great player.. always tore it up in el fortin.. only 2 million euros too. Absolute steal (even moreso if you compare him to the 14m we paid for Pratto.. 1 Pratto = 7 Zarates?) I wonder if this means an offer for Pavon is at bay, even with his underwhelming WC. If not — Benedetto, Pavon, Zarate, Ramon Abila, old ass Tevez... quite some firepower up top for the second half of the Libertadres
It is a bit of a shame that Zarate did move from Vélez, especially with his family connection at that club(especially his brother El Raton, what a character he was). I’m glad he’s at least staying at home rather than going to some mid-level English or riding the bench somewhere in Italy.
Rumors circulating that Tapia and Angelici have guaranteed him his long desired NT call up in exchange for joining Boca. I am not surprised, if they could get nobodies like Benedetto or Pablo Perez onto the NT, a player with pedigree in Europe and who scored the winning goal in the 2007 Sub 20 world cup is not going to be that hard to get onto the NT. Its a pretty nefarious way to do things, but considering Tapia's background, its no surprise.

It looks like Guillermo wants to stick with Rossi. He's a good young goalkeeper with a promising future, but I don't know about going after la Libertadores with somebody so young on goal, and we know the pressure can get to him, we saw what happened against Palmeiras. Another issue is that it looks like Barrios may be gone. Not sure what the midfield will look like, maybe Nandez as central defender. The team looks strong and deep, but I have concerns about Rossi, about Barrios leaving, and Fabra's injury. I would think as of now it will be something like this for a starting lineup: Rossi Jara, Goltz, Izquierdoz, Mas PPerez, ¿Barrios? (or Nandez), Gago Tevez (or Zarate), Pavon Benedetto
I would think Cardona will start, it's really too bad about his behavior that left him off the World Cup.
