Akis Zikos has signed a 2 year deal with AEK after 4 years with AS Monaco. Zikos returns to AEK Good move for AEK, eventhough we already have Emerson as a DM. We need depth and class players like Zikos if we make the groups. Now we need a real #10 and another striker and we're set to make a serious challenge.
Great draw for AEK in the CL. AC Milan Lille Anderlecht Anderlecht lost all their games last year except their last match against Betis when Lorenzo Ferrer was coach and played reserves in a meaningless match. 11 points will put AEK through: 1 point against Milan 4 points against Lille 6 points against Anderlecht. Hopefully he learned his lesson last year when Betis lost at home to Liverpool, then away at Chelsea and by then it was all over for Betis. Good news is that AEK has CL experience whereas Betis did not. good luck guys! Viva Er Beti y Don Lorenzo Serra Ferrer! Er Pichi
Thanks brother. All in all the general consensus seems to be a good draw for us. Hearts got a right drubbing 5-1 on aggregate but that club had zero experience at that level of play and we won because we were more mature. I would be happy with 3rd place and a send off to the UEFA Cup. 6pts off Anderlecht and that is a success already for me at least. Don Lorenzo Ferrer show us the way.....
AEK Athens pulled off a suprise victory over AC Milan 1-0 goal from Julio Cesar. http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news?slug=afp-fbleurc1greitaaek&prov=afp&type=lgns

Toffees bid for AEK's Manolas Everton are hoping to finalize a deal with AEK Athens for young defender Kostas Manolas, Sky Sports reports. Everton first showed interest for the 20 year old a few weeks ago, but as the transfer window is shutting soon, the parties involved seem closer than ever to making the deal. With Manolas out of contract at the end of this season, AEK are trying to get what they can for their young star, instead of waiting till the summer when he can leave the Greek capital for free. Everton are offering around €500,000 but AEK are trying to push up the price as it seems that there's other teams involved in the bidding.
Makes you wonder why other clubs/FAs haven't had the guts to punish players similarly for similar actions.
Well, that could lead to a huge conversation about it...This is modern football...Most major clubs wouldnt punish one of their star players, risking their price. But AEK couldnt do anything else than what they did...AEK history is way to big to stand over a Katidis and any Katidis.
