There's only one Messi especially in the Copa America where he failed thousand times unable to give his country a trophy that can be win only by them or other 1-2 team (in rotation).
They arrived in São Paulo and had their first training session. Meanwhile, Daizen Maeda celebrated the birth of his first baby: \ #SAMURAIBLUE
I will be happy if he is as good as the likes Benzema and Suarez, etc., forget the likes of Messi and Ronaldo.
Too early to tell. Odegaard is still playing in Vitesse plus a lot of promising youngsters never lived up to their potential e.g Januzaj, Macheda, etc. Benzema and Suarez are damn good players as well, you cannot say for sure Kubo will be as good as them.
I understand your concern. But Kubo IMO have the ability that Januzaj, Macheda, Ben Arfa, Emre Mor, nor Quaresma has at this age, the ability to read the game. the understanding of space. You could argue though, Odegaard has this aspect as well, but still not enough for Real to consider him as first team material.
Odegaard was just 16 (+ big ego + not sure he spoke spanish). Forget him. Too early to say what level Kubo will reach. I just wanted to remember that Messi is maybe the GOAT. But avoid the sterile comparisons.
Brazil won against Bolivia but it was not good at all despite the final result. If this is the level of competition Japan has the chance too.
Start by making a decent continental competition, with the ten members you have (rather than inviting random countries from all over the world, since Australia might be on the list for 2020 edition), and then you'll have the right to talk. Fudging CONMEBOL. The nerve they have.
CONMEBOL should make the cooperation with CONCACAF like in 2016 a permanent thing. Adding Costa Rica, Mexico and the US would be good for the entire competition as well and can draw more attention. I watched the 2016 Copa America and I quite like the entire feel and atmosphere.
Dax or whoever, can we open a thread for Japan @ Copa America 2019? Opening a new thread for every match it's useless till the posters in BigSoccer Japan are greatly reduced but at least an official thread would be nice. Plus: we can discuss other teams like Argentina that lost today 0 - 2 against Colombia.
It's curious that moriyasu is not made to play the players who are going to go to the copa hormi kubo for friendly matches. how he will line them up without having tested them before. do you think Japan has a chance to go to the quarter-finals despite this group of 17 inexperienced youngsters?
To the rest of the Copa America comp, Japan's team has already descended to "Kubo & Co". https://www.channelnewsasia.com/new...are-team-to-fear-ahead-of-japan-copa-11631202
ok then, I hope Nakajima would show up with some screamers to remind them who is currently the main man of jnt.
It's important anyway or him to get out of the f***ing Qatar as soon as possible. Except he himself who want to be at Qatar, sigh
You can never leave the desert leagues until you're in the 30s... whatever, Nakajima is earning millions, I don't think he cares
No senior team matches until September. The Olympic team will play in the AFC U-23 championship next year (which will also serve as the AFC qualification to Tokyo Olympics).
Doubt Kubo, Tomiyasu and the others headliners will be released in january by their clubs. Knowing already that they will be called-up in august...
Well, the AFC U23 doesn't mean anything to Japan from a competitive standpoint as they have a host nation slot at the Olympics anyway. Good opportunity for Ayase Ueda to practice shooting.
