Maybe Pete’s parting gift? In all seriousness, Pete is a very nice guy but was clearly over this head. Best of luck to him wherever he lands.
Klein is a very nice guy too, buy clearly in way over his head. When we can say a nice goodbye to him?
Exactly. I was expecting Vagenas to be the scapegoat this offseason. The best we can hope for next is that Klein is given another title in some kind of lateral, half measure move to try and appease the fan base.
Sounds like The Bruce will be back LA Galxy President Chris Klein says that a new head of Soccer operations will be hired and that person will act as GM. They h e an internal timeline for that but aren’t sharing that with the media. #lagalaxy— Corner Of The Galaxy (@GalaxyPodcast) November 6, 2018
Why was Zlatan there? Was he there? They made a big deal about his availability. Was there any news related to his status? Galaxy can't even do press conferences right.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic just spoke with us. Zlatan says he’s “not worried” in terms of the Galaxy meeting his wishes. Says the club knows his demands and that the club seems positive about meeting them.Zlatan did not share his wishes with the media.#LAGalaxy— Corner Of The Galaxy (@GalaxyPodcast) November 6, 2018
Maybe they have become so irrelevant that without Zlatan as a hook nobody would have attended the presser.
Romain Alessandrini says he has no intention on leaving the team unless the team doesn’t want him back. Says that he would love to stay in LA for at least another 2-3 years. #LAGalaxy— Delmy Barillas (@DelmyBarillas) November 6, 2018 turning out to be a pretty good day... but, the day ain't through
Also, he said he was a Galaxy player. That he wouldn’t go on loan if he was a Galaxy player. He seems positive that the Galaxy would be able to work it out. #LAGalaxy #MLS— Corner Of The Galaxy (@GalaxyPodcast) November 6, 2018
Maybe it’s not coming through in Tweets and texts, but all of this comes across like that Chris Rock bit where he makes fun of people who expect accolades for doing the things they’re supposed to be doing anyway. And for an organization that sold all viable candidates at right-back two seasons ago and unceremoniously dumped a bunch of other players/coaching staff the comments from Zlatan and Romaine are hardly reassuring. Zlatan I’m sure they will move heaven and earth to retain as he’s the only element that will paper over the cracks for another season.
JDS says (according to this) that he stays whether or not Gio goes! JDS also tells me that in the event that Gio doesn’t return with the team next year, that he (JDS) would like to stay, even if that meant playing without his brother. #LAGalaxy— Delmy Barillas (@DelmyBarillas) November 6, 2018
Now that it's time for the Galaxy start work for 2019. I vote that they name Caleb Porter, Head Coach and Vice President of Soccer Operations. I say give him the power to build and shape the future of the LA Galaxy.
If Bruce is GM/director of soccer does he hire Porter? I feel like they had some bad blood didn't they? I remember seeing a gif float around twitter of Porter gloating after a Timbers goal against us.
Yeah, he's a bit of a douche isn't he? Interesting to see if Bruce is hired how that affects the coaching search. I think Bruce goes in for GBS or even Berhalter.
I've always liked him, but Alessandrini just became my official favorite player for the next few years. This is the guy we should be building the team around. Not dos Santos.
LOL, love it! Hire that man, NOW!!! That's the moxy I want to see on the sideline, not the meek shuffling and navel-gazing we've had for the past few years. Or if Porter doesn't work out, how about El Piojo, or whatever his name is, is he still available?
I would rather have a GM like Ali Curtis who came in with a detailed long term vision on everything that needed to be done to transform the NYRB's into the team it's become today. Before Ali and Marsch came along NYRB were like we are now. Some really talented players but no identity or vision for the future.
I'd love Ali Curtis but I'd be happy to give Todd a chance. Think about it. Did we ever lose with that guy? In Todd We Trust! But seriously, I think it's Bruce's job.
Good ol’ days, when teams would celebrate like this when they equalized at home, like they just won Cup. I remember a game in Seattle where they set off every pyrotechnic in the stadium when they equalized late.
