Wow, Schult playing very high, almost as an additional CB. I hope we get a chance to punish her for that later in the game!
Three consecutive CKs for Germany, ended by a Popp's header going wide. I hope the final CKs' count won't be the same as the game vs France...
In these first 15' of the game we are at least consistently showing up in opponent half, although we didn't have any shot so far (Germany had, with a good save from Hirao in one of the CKs' action, but they weren't exceedingly dangerous either).
A streaming feed in English has been post on the Friendlies thread: it's even an half minute ahead of the previous one, I'd say:
Mmm, Hirao almost allowed Maroszan to catch her unprepared on the near post with this FK, but she made up in time. I am now following the English streaming because it's better quality, but the announcer can't seem to get that it's not Ikeda in goal, but Hirao!
Wow, Hirao loves to live dangerously, with this dribbling in the box!!! She's a little too much bold for my tastes: I smell a blunder waiting to happen... Before that, we wasted an offensive FK in an inexplicable way, with Nakajima opting for a back-pass to the midfield...
Eh eh: I had called it, I had called it!!! We've punished Schult for playing so high. Very bad blunder: as a GK you don't pass the ball to Hasegawa, or she punishes with a wonderful lob!!! Not really expected, since we hadn't actually shot in goal so far, but we're 1-0 ahead at 36'.
H T.....0-1 Watching Nadeshiko is a little like falling off a tall building.....keep saying "so far so good...so far so good"
Nadeshiko have been better today. The France match was them just playing badly. France were the better team, but Nadeshiko were very poor. At least today they are stringing some passes together.
Well, we're facing 2nd-ranked team in the world (although playing with an experimental-young line-up) and I guess we've kept the dangers to the minimum. We weren't very dangerous either, but we're ahead anyway. Hiaro make some good saves (of course without catching, but they were difficult ones). What I dislike from her is her aerial game (too much ball-watching on crosses) and her tendency to take a little too much risks. I had to do during the break and I missed the whistle of 2nd-half: any changes?
Hirao managed to save with her leg and we remain ahead! Phew! Same feeling as @Manchester Nadeshiko, I have to say!
Mmm, who was covering Maroszan if Sameshima had went wider? Our defense is caught unprepared and it's 1-1.
We get back at France's offensive line-up at 55': Sugasawa and Endo out, Yokoyama and Kobayashi in. Meanwhile another very dangerous chance for Germany and we waste the consequent counter-attack.
Wow, Magull incredibly misses a lob alone in front of Hirao. But if things go on this way, Germany is going to score their second very soon!!!! Alarm call!!! Alarm call!!!
