Ueki out, Endo in at 85': talk about deep bench! Edit: previously, at 74', Oto Kanno had replaced Mina Tanaka, while I wasn't watching the game for some minutes.
Less about skill and more about speed and strength with those two teams, so they match up well against each other. Though the level of football was okay. I think Incheon and Beleza are the two better teams of the four.
FT Incheon 0 Beleza 2 Except for the bad defensive error at 82 mins Beleza looked pretty much in control. Should have scored at least one more goal though. Looks odd... Beleza without Shimizu....she's such a fixture
But, the China team looked more dangerous for me because of the existence of the very fast CF and tight mark on Beleza's key players.
Wow, the last minutes were quite difficult, with Incheon pushing for the equalizer: they had even managed to score at the second minute of injury-time, but it was (rightfully) disallowed for off-side. The ref adlib added 2 minutes beyond the 2 that had already be showed on the board, because of the 30 seconds at max that had been lost for Goto's cramps. Well, anyway it was no-use for Red Angels and it was Beleza who finally scored again a well-deserved second goal at 90'+3'. Kobayashi from an assist by Miyazawa, if I am not wrong, who had just replaced Momiki. FT Nippon TV Beleza 2 Hyundai Incheon Red Angels 0 Now Beleza leads the tournament with 4 points, and the final win is in their hands, since beating Melbourne Victory in the last match-day would be enough to seal the deal!
Beleza deserved the win, but they rode their luck in the first half. Incheon in the first half created the better chances, particularly down the left flank. Beleza's right back today (Wakaba Goto 25) was caught out three or four times in the first half. She improved in the second half, but Incheon had lost a bit of their energy. Hasegawa was very good along with Ueki. After that it is harder for me to find really good players for Beleza. Momiki and Kobayashi were both poor, though I am not sure about Kobayashi in general. In the second half Beleza were the much better team, but they still did not really create any great chances from open play until the second goal. This is partly due to Incheon actually defending really well and also defending deep like the Chinese side did. Nadeshiko League teams should take a leaf out of their books and defend deeper against Beleza next season. But it was a good performance by Beleza. I think they will score quite a few against Melbourne.
Oh, yes, now I remember having seen her at the U-19 AFC Championship in Thailand. No surprise that she's so good, then. For some reason, I hadn't recognized her wearing a green jersey!
Absolutely! You can take all the skill in the world, but somebody who is fast is terrifying for any defender. Sam Kerr playing for Nojima, Beleza would be in a serious panic.
It was the player I and @unepommekun were talking about, AFC U-19 recently crowned champion Wakaba Goto. Actually, I had found her quite good, but in fact I only watched 2nd Half, when you say she was better. If she missed so badly in 1st Half, I eat my good words about her. If it was a game of two-halves, this should be enough to explain our different views: I agree that Hasegawa and Ueki were very good, but I had quite liked the way Kobayashi was pushing on the Right-Side in 2nd half.
It's a shame that I will miss it: I don't think I can manage to wake up at 4:00 (here in Europe) on Saturday to watch it! At least I hope I will wake up with the good news of a win.
To be fair to her, she probably has not played there a lot for Beleza and now she is playing against Incheon, so I think it is okay to cut her some slack. Going forward she looked good, just defensively not so good. I will probably watch the first half again to check my memory. She made one nice run in the second half and also another in the first half, but compared to Ueki she was nowhere near as impactful in my opinion. I am probably being a bit harsh on her.
Tomorrow's games: Empress's Cup third round Albi vs Chifure 11:00 Urawa vs Shizuoka 13:00 Inac vs Cerezo 14:00
NT members for E1 Championship: GK Ikeda, Yamashita, Hirao DF Matsubara, Miyake, Doko, Shimizu, Seike, Miyagawa, Minami MF Nakajima, Kurishima, Momiki, Hasegawa, Sugita, Miura, Endo FW Sugasawa, Iwabuchi, Tanaka, Ikejiri, Kobayashi, Ueki
I won't furtherly comment the selection right now, but I'll only notice the interesting return of Mayu Ikejiri, after her brilliant season in South Korea.
...I guess it has more to do with black friday shopping spree...and said jersey isn't this new one. It's that previos one with stripes.
First half: Albi 0-0 Chifure Chifure overwhelmed Albi; a lot of talents like Azami, Arakawa,Uetsuji, Nagano and Nakamura. I really wonder why this team was unable to promote. It's far better than Ehime.
HT Melbourne 0 Beleza 2 Strength and speed coming second by a long way so far....Beleza seem to be going past them at will and they are winning the ball back The heart seems to have gone out of Melbourne
There aren't a lot of surprises in this one. Though I still can't get over how much space there is for players to run into on the left side for Beleza. The right back/right midfielders for Victory are all over the place. However it might be to marking Hasegawa tightly. I still think Beleza's back line is too high and could be exploited, but the Victory have barely caught sight of the ball.
