Loos like AUS didn't come to play...

 

I am not convinced Australia want to win this match. I kind of get sitting back and defending deep at the start of the game, but since the goals have gone in there has been no change to tempo or change of defensive line.

Absolutely no pressure on Japan's midfield. Maybe they are tired, but I expect them to have a bit more of a go in the first twenty minutes of the second half.

I mean this is a game to go to the world cup.

I was looking at the feed on youtube and the Australian fans intimate that there are a lot of good players missing from this squad. I do not know if Australia has any good players at the under 20 level, but maybe there is something to it.

I thought they were playing more defensively out of respect to Young Nadeshiko, and also due to the thumping they got from North Korea.

But they had the same formation against North Korea. It looks like they have changed the team quite a bit though.

 

It's just refreshing to watch a game of football after the earlier offering

 

I would expect nothing less form a Korean derby!

 

But you would expect a game of football to have occured sometime during the 90 mins

 

Isn't 3 teams going from AFC? If so perhaps Aussie gave up on this game, saving it for 3rd place match against South Korea.

 

That was a good goal! I really should go to bed, but I am just curious to see how bad this gets.

 

Based on what I saw of South Korea against Young Nadeshiko, I can not see Australia beating South Korea. South Korea looked really good to me.

 

This is getting embarasing fot the Ausies

 

That's a shame because South Korea are a very skilful team. I hope they get through to the World Cup.

 

Yeah three teams, but I can't see them beating South Korea. I think China would be too good for Australia based on this performance.

 

Today they quickly lost two goals albeit from indvidual errors but after that it was mountain to climb and so final score 3-1 for North side. I agree South Koreans deserve to go to WWC, now they only need to prove it against Aussies.

I am curious to watch the game for third place on Saturday, just to see if Australia were only bad today. I expect South Korea to beat them, but they might struggle to score a goal, so it could get tight.

I have not watched North Korea play so far, so I have no idea if they are any good or not. I assume they are, so the final could probably go either way. It should be interesting and now that Young Nadeshiko are through to the world cup I do not really mind that much if they lose, though it would be nice if they won.

 

Potential for two good games at the weekend providing Korea DPR play Young Nadeshiko and don't just kick them off the park

( would be interesting to find out just how many fouls were commited in that Korea derby.It seemed like the ref never stopped blowing whistle)
