Australia beat Saudi Arabia 3-2. Australia were very scrappy but Saudi looked exhausted in the second half, not surprising given their season finished last month. I really hope we beat Australia in Saitama, we've had too many frustrating stalemates with them and needing to get three points in Saudi in the final game... less than ideal. Three teams on 16 points now. Goal difference might be crucial at the very end.

Australia have been playing some average football in WCQ but I feel Confederations Cup will give them great preparation for the next game. It's frustrating having had so many draws with them especially at home. It sounds like Iraq have a new manager now and with no motivation of qualifying for third spot it will be interesting if they bring in some new and untested players.
