What do you mean no movement I thought we signed Nathan Smith and Bradley Diallo? They should be more than capable of sorting out any problems on the back line--Onalfo did train them
At this point we have to just wait till summer to sign anyone to fix our back line. We have to hope the kids are alright. Our options are pretty much just free agents at the moment which likely wouldn't be much of an improvement if any.
I would at least like to see one more defensive body come up even if it's some sort short term contract... Is Corey Ash still a free agent?
It seems that the bigger problem is our inability to score. That suggests Zardes' absence is more of a problem than the absences of Cole and Rogers, neither of whom do all that much for us offensively, even if they would be somewhat better than the players we're using now.
Zardes will be playing up top in place of McBean. That's not gonna help the attack much if he doesn't get service--which is the real problem. He's not really an individual creator either. Seems like not much hope...
I think Zardes' presence itself would open space up for the rest of the team to operate. McBean isn't fast so opposing defenses don't have to worry about him getting the ball and running at them.
Yeah, not so sure about that. How about when both Steres and Diallo allowed Valeri to get a completely wide open shot in the 70th minute from 12 yards with a simple drop back pass where all Valeri had to do was backup a few yards and both our central defenders just watched. It was an awful play.
Add Dos Santos who I don't remember getting many shots plus was out. It's going to be hard to score without our better shot takers not taking chances.
Agreed, but by the same token, how about that time our DP and captain midfielder was caught way too high on a set play that led to the only goal of the game.
That's the thing, I don't recall Jack even having any chances for a shooting opportunity let alone a chance to actually score. Same for Gio.
Future Galaxy forward Zlatan had an absolutely sick assist today.... Check it out if you haven't seen it yet.
It looks less sick if you saw the game and realized he'd tried that same move unsuccessfully 45 times up that point.
The best part of the video was Zlatan trying to give Juan Mata a high five, but he was too short to reach.
Zlatan or Chiacharito would probably be a great players for the Galaxy for a couple of years(more Cheech), but I just dislike the idea of mid season signings, especially in MLS. Portland, Seattle, and Dallas have viable depth and rotations from the start of the season.
Zlatan would be 35 if he would join us this summer. For a lot of people, that would be old, but Zlatan seems to be doing very well in his later years. I mean he has 26 goals for United in all competitions this season. That is amazingly good for a 35 year old. I am really torn with Zlatan. I worry that he would come here for a payday and maybe his form drops, but on the other hand, Zlatan would be the first truly world class player in this league who would still destroy defenses.
