Yeah, I would even favor Gamba to go through.

You sure Gamba will go through ahead of Jeju?
OTOH, Kashima have to be careful tho. From what I seen, Ueda and Shoji damn near started every match for Kashima this year. If either gets injured, then Kashima's defence is screwed. J league teams dont seem to have that much depth in their bench.

If either of them gets injured, Machida or Bueno will fill in. Shoji and Ueda didn't come out of nowhere, they started on the bench.

fwiw Bueno is not on the ACL squad. So I do wonder about depth.

There's Machida, the Misao brothers ... They're fine.

They are not as good as Ueda and Shoji tho. It would be nice to see Ishii rotate for a while to keep them fresh for the ACL.

In general, substitutes are not as good as the regulars, that's the concept.

I wonder how would they perform in the ACL against the likes of Shanghai SIPG and Jiangsu if Ueda and Shoji are not there.

Embarassing by Gamba, 3-0 down to Jiangsu Suning. Lucky Jeju lost to Adelaide too. How did Gamba lost 4-1 to Jeju earlier?
OTOH, good job by Urawa to win against Shanghai SIPG. They were using classic time-wasting tactics in the end. Sly by Petrovic on that.

I fully support this classless behavior from Moriwaki.

Haha funny. Moriwaki really is a di*#head of a player though. One of the most unsportsmanslike players in the league by far. I've been to a couple of Urawa-matches lately, and it's even more obvious live.

The thing is that his antics are so petty that it's hard to imagine anyone getting particularly riled up. Nishikawa looks embarrassed.

Yeah, well done by Nishikawa there or the situation could have escalated. I didn't see the match though so for all I know there is something that happened earlier that is the cause of Moriwaki's reaction. But then again, maybe not.

Kawasaki 0-0 Guangzhou. They really screwed themselves by drawing against Eastern, now it looks gloomy for them.

Wow Kawasaki 1-0 Suwon. The Eastern game at home is a must win now for them. On the other hand Gamba drew 3-3 at home, they would most probably not go through now especially Jiangsu has already secured qualification and is unlikely to play at full strength against Jeju and Adelaide.

Kawasaki have advanced. Cant see them not beating Eastern at home.

Kawasaki creates a lot of chances but they often waste it. They need a CF with decent hold up play and good in the air like Kawamata imo.

Your point is well taken but I'm not sure any solutions are on the market atm. We just have to wait for Ienaga to get fit, I guess.

Great win though, pleasant surprise to see us go through under the circumstances. The two gritty performances against GZEG paid off.

They need to score 4 away goals and win by 3 goals or more. AND hope that Jiangsu takes points against Adelaide. Doesn't look too good.

Kawasaki's football is pleasing on the eyes. They definitely are the most entertaining team behind Urawa this year imo.
Gamba are already out. Hasegawa has his team performing like trash in the ACL for these two years. In comparison with Kawasaki who is still in the running despite being riddled with injuries to their squad, Gamba really should be ashmaed with their performance. Maybe it is time for Hasegawa to step down.

Think both Reysol and Kobe plays more attractive football than Kawasaki, and that by quite a big margin too.

Huge win for both Kashima and Urawa. Does anybody feel that J league teams have gotten more physical over the past few years? I remember when they could not keep up with the Chinese and Korean teams' relentless pressing and running and always bullied off the ball and losing 1 on 1 exchanges. Kashima particular were organized and compact as a team against Ulsan. Their CBs were physical beasts today.
