I found the squad lists by poking around the AFC homepage. No real surprises, but several players with foreign citizenship are omitted due to differences in squad registration rules between the J-League and the ACL: Bueno, Eduardo (injured)

No Jeff, as expected. He would require an AFC foreign player slot in the ACL. Even now when Dudu comes back they'll have to decide which of the Brazilians to omit for the knockout stage.

Makino. 3-0. Urawa players are really good at timing with the offside flag, they have not been called for offside much in the game.

And Rafa Silva already started scoring for Reds. And I wonder what Yajima will show this season.

2-0. Kanazaki and Suzuki scored. Ishii is really a good coach.

Normally J league clubs start slow and end strong, this year they already started winning their first matches. Which of the J league clubs you guys think have the biggest chance of winning ACL btw? They will still have to go through Guangzhou tho.

Good start indeed, let's see if the 2 other teams can follow up later today. Both teams should have decent chances of picking up 3 points, although Adelaide are in-season and Suwon are unbeaten on their last 4 matches played in Japan ( 0-0 vs Reysol, 2-1 vs Urawa, 2-1 vs Reysol and 2-1 vs Gamba).

Surprised to see Seoul lose 0-1 at home vs SIPG yesterday, have them as the by far best Korean team this year. Don't think any of the other 3 will go far. Well maybe Suwon can challenge Kawasaki for 2nd behind Evergrande.

Muang Thong also picked up a very strong result in Australia!

I think Evergrande should be the favourites to win this year based on past results but would really like to see a J league team preferably Kashima win this year.

Gamba goes ahead on a towering header by Nagasawa, assisted by a perfectly placed cross from Oh Jae-Suk.

Like every year - Reds or Gamba. Reds had to play against Guangzhou last year and it didn't look like there was any gap between both teams. But they choked in the final minutes during away game in South Korea which they should get past and get to the next round. I'm pretty sure that Frontale won't be too competitive this year after big changes. Antlers might go with the flow from the end of the last year but a home win against Ulsan doesn't say too much about their strenght in my opinion.

Kawasaki does have the weakest squad imo. I think Gamba will go further than Reds because Kenta Hasegawa is the best cup manager in the league maybe other than Moriyasu imo.

there's no such a thing as a "cup manager". They crashed out miserably last year and their team is even weaker this season.
