I would imagine at some point they'll realize that they'll have to be more cost efficient with their player signings.

While we wait on whether Valdes indeed signs with the Cosmos, or not. The club bolstered their central midfield over the holiday weekend by inking MLS vet Adam Moffat. Solid pick up if you ask me. Good work rate, solid in possesion and has the ability to test the keeper from long range. Figure he will slot in with Senna and Szetela.

Rowdies Part Ways With Hill, Sanfilippo

The Tampa Bay Rowdies have parted ways with two more members of the 2014 roster, midfielder Shane Hill and defender Frankie Sanfilippo.
"We have made a strategic decision to play a different brand of soccer and that requires a re-tooling of our squad,” said club president and general manager, Farrukh Quraishi. “And while we appreciate the service that Shane and Frankie have given to the Rowdies, as senior players we support their desire to play. These are never easy decisions but change is the nature of professional sports, and this club needed change in order to achieve the success that we all want."

    http://the11.ca/2015/02/23/ex-tfc-and-bolton-wanderer-johann-smith-begins-trial-with-fc-edmonton/

"The Eddies made several additions heading into camp; El Salvadorean midfielder Tomas Granitto, Icelandic winger Oskar Orn Hauksson and former MLSer Sainey Nyassi were added to the roster. Former Minnesota United keeper Matt Van Oekel was also signed.

And, former Toronto FC forward Johann Smith will be in the Eddies’ camp for the next three weeks. The American speedster played for the Reds in 2008 and ’09, and was also once part of Bolton Wanderers’ roster."

Savarese has a player in mind for the team's final foreign player spot -- South American in Spain

    http://www.bigapplesoccer.com/teams/cosmos2.php?article_id=40272

"We have one more foreign spot at the moment, where we are very aggressively looking for a striker to fill that position," Savarese said. "We have had a few players that we have been talking to all First Division players in different leagues that we are considering. Hopefully we can get into an agreement ... in the next days or weeks in order to be able to finalize the roster."

Absolute flying machine’ joins FC Edmonton lineup

    http://www.edmontonjournal.com/Absolute+flying+machine+joins+Edmonton+lineup/10898040/story.html

"He’s an absolute flying machine,” head coach Colin Miller said. “(With him) we have a ton of pace throughout our group.”

Much of the talk around Smith in training camp was about the blistering defender’s high school 10.5-second 100m dash — under a second off the times set by world-record-holder Usain Bolt — although Smith is likely faster with a ball at his feet."

And so it is the Canadian Mens National Team Captain JDG :

Fury FC makes big splash, signs Canadian star Julian de Guzman

    http://www.ottawasun.com/2015/03/27...guzman?token=e501cf76cc1e47beae661ecc5f354776

The signing of the 34-year-old Toronto native is a huge move for the club as it enters its sophomore season, both for what de Guzman will bring to the pitch and the added attention he's sure bring the club.

The first Canadian player to crack Spain's La Liga, featuring in 97 contests for Deportivo La Coruna, de Guzman also has 77 games of Major League Soccer with Toronto FC and FC Dallas to go along with three seasons in the German Bundesliga with Hannover 96.
