GK Tani is decent, but his kicking is awful

It's looking similar like the UAE match. We just can't find net.

Wish we had a striker like their number 7.

Well, win isn't the main goal at this age category, but it only was when we can play football with a clear philosophy, identity and, vision, and sadly this team just failed to just did that in a very important moment. Well this isn't the end of the world though. Hope players like Kubo, Hirakawa which didn't live up to his standard today, Miyashiro, and Seko can bring bright future for us which is looked not particularly well at this time with our A team and U-23 team.

Iraq looked fit and sharp. I thought they might be tired but they continued pressing hard and forcing countless turnovers in our half. If Miyashiro scores those two shots then game over. Looking forward to how these guys develop until the WC.

when you reach the semi final you play to win so this is a huge failure and what they showed after the second goal is another sign that generations pass but weaknesses remain. they're gonna need supplies of diapers for tonight.

    Worst match ever.
They could won easy 4 - 1 but shit happens and they reacted as the senior team: spineless players (but they have the excuse of being young).
Iraq didn't deserve the win at all, they were lucky and their gk saved plenty goals (well, let's say their gk + poles/crossbar + japanese typical finish style), however best wishes for the final.

Oh, and Kubo remind me Kagawa in this match but probably he was still injured tx to the same old afc treatment on technical players. We played 10 since his sub in.

Iraq scored more goals thus deserve the victory. It's as simple as that.

    Absolutely not.
They were lucky and average at best.
If Japan had won with Iraq posts-crossbar-gk-beating us I'll say the same.
The shame is all for Japan.

As the first tournament I see with T.Kubo this is quite disappointing.

Iraq completely deserved their win. They aggressively pressed us the entire game and physically were much more imposing. Their striker (Dawood) is what our country fails to develop every year. How long have we said "Japan should've won because we had more shots inside the box etc"? Every age category we seem to dominate the match with 20 shots to 5 but that means jack sh!t if we can't finish.

No, yesterday Iraq even overshots us. Couldn't agree more, that is what i mean by we couldn't deliver at the very important moment.

Overshot? They never been a threat except the rebound for the first goal and the equaliser when our defence acted as a bunch of brainless monkeys. This isn't exactly "overshot" especially if their gk was hit in any part of his body by our strikers and the posts and crossbar were raped in the same way.
Ok guys, it was an hard defeat but the opponents were average at best, they did nothing except try to bully physically our smaller players (Kubo was bad but they hit him any ********ing time).
At the end they won 3-2 with a pk, a rebound and only 1 clear chance.
While we lost with 2 clear goals, 2 post/crossbar and plenty shots on the gk.
I like to be highly critical of our players and I like Iraq team too but they didn't deserve nothing more than us. Except you value them as underdog/pathetic team, in this case you are right saying they did an historical job.

It's true that Japan could have been 3-1 but a crossbar is not a goal just like a catch from the goalkeeper is not a goal unfortunately. Kubo wasn't bad, he just barely got service.
Iraq is a great team at youth level, they even finished 4th in 2013 at the U20 world cup. I've seen the match too and I don't think they deserved to lose, it's not like the PK is a gift from god, they pierced through our defense and collected on the mistakes (I'm not sure the last one is a PK but they were 3-2 anyway). Have you already forgotten Seko's save in front of the line ? It's not like they weren't a threat.

Lose against the champions is the worst thing.
We miss the trophy for a post and a crossbar but it's ok.

Excellent performance by the U17 at the Amro Future Cup in Amsterdam.

0-0 vs Ajax (at home) 3-0 vs Juventus, 4-1 vs Benfica. Lost in the semis 1-0 v Bayern, trashed Anderlecht 7-0 to earn third place.
    Ajax won the comp.
