Re: Official Junior Youth (U17) JNT Thread [R] I hope Minamino stays on track unlike another U-17 star from the past.... But in all seriousness how the fcuk is he going to play at a club level? Cerezo are stacked in terms of young forwards. Nagai and Sugimoto are great prospects ahead of him. Adriano and Bando are first choice and I can't see anyone taking over for them in the next 2 to 3 years. I don't mind him getting his first pro start when he's 18 or 19, but if Culpi wants to bring him up to be a star I don't think its plausible to wait 2 or 3 years for him to get competitive games. If Minamino is really the next big thing then his progression has start now. Hopefully he'll be loaned out or something because he will not get a game unless everyone is injured.
Re: Official Junior Youth (U17) JNT Thread [R] I clicked now... Bit too late... still... Definitely a Justin Channel filled with Japanese action... (DON'T IF YOU'RE A MINOR!)
Re: Official Junior Youth (U17) JNT Thread [R] Again ? They have all the forward prospects in Japan. Impressive. I think next year, Bando will be a nice "souvenir" ... Sugimoto or Nagai will start playing (more likely Sugimoto because his height is a precious asset in J.league).

Re: Official Junior Youth (U17) JNT Thread [R] This team seems to have a lot less flair than previous Japan U17s. Minamino doesn't look like he has the raw technique that a 2006 Kakitani had but he does the job of CF simply and well. Although he's a bit of a shrimp at 166cm/55kg. Someone at Cerezo is doing an excellent job with youth strikers. Having said that about the flair, this U17 side defensively and tactically is soo much more organised than previous generations. Ueda and Iwanami were very good.
Re: Official Junior Youth (U17) JNT Thread [R] Bando said he won't spend another season on the bench.
Re: Official Junior Youth (U17) JNT Thread [R] but zura936 is open ... he often changes channel name, so
Re: Official Junior Youth (U17) JNT Thread [R] How were the conceded goals? Forgive me but if DPRK manage to win both AFC youth tournaments it'll look sus (and they have a history of it) However assuming they are U16 they're a fantastic side. Although they don't look amazing the Koreans just very physically very very strong.
Re: Official Junior Youth (U17) JNT Thread [R] Yeah I know but last time he changed he jumped from something like Zura 635 to Zura 665 . BTW, thanks.
Re: Official Junior Youth (U17) JNT Thread [R] Yeeees ! Matsumoto scores, nice goal ! I want to believe. edit : oh god after all these chances I'm gonna hang myself if there's no equalizer.
Re: Official Junior Youth (U17) JNT Thread [R] Was it really a hand at the end ? Two goals cancelled, dammit ... We didn't deserve to lose, but merit doesn't matter in Soccer. Congrats North Korea.
Re: Official Junior Youth (U17) JNT Thread [R] It would have been nice to win the tournament, but our goal has been accomplished so no harm no foul. The most important thing was qualifying for the U-17 WC and I'm glad that they achieved that.
Re: Official Junior Youth (U17) JNT Thread [R] Truer words were never spoken. Now THAT statement should be grounds for a ban from this forum.
Re: Official 2009-11 Jurnior Youth (U17) Japanese NT Thread [R] yes, semi finalists all going to U17 World Cup in Mexico next year
Re: Official Junior Youth (U17) JNT Thread [R] I was inclined to think at the end it looked a bit like arm there so I wouldn't say the ref screwed us.
Re: Official 2009-11 Jurnior Youth (U17) Japanese NT Thread [R] Me neither, I tend to overreact after the match. AmericanKaka > Okay I should say "Congratulations boys despite representing a dictatorial and evil regimen (but that's not their fault)" .
Re: Official Junior Youth (U17) JNT Thread [R] Iraq's goal was very nice, but Japan's third goal was too!
Does it slightly iff anybody that this U16 side didn't really have a true "destroyer" type. 2006 we had Kakitani, 2008 we had Usami. Both players for their generations were a clear cut above almost all if not all the other players at those tournaments. Usami's dribble through the entire Saudi Arabia U16 team comes to mind. This team had Minamino. He was clearly very very good but not the sort of player like Usami or Kakitani at that age. Not a dominant player who was so clearly a class above the others.
