I predict DC United will finish as the best MLS team in the greater Washington region. 20 years running which will also be a new record.
I haven't paid attention to the other teams offseason moves and only watch a few preseason games & CCL - so with that little amount of data here I am to mouth-off East 1: Toronto 2: Montreal 3: NYRB 4: Orlando 5: Columbus 6: New England ---------------------------- 7: DC United (If this team comes together I could see them in 2nd) 8: Philly 9: NYCFC 10: Chicago West 1: Dallas 2: Vancouver 3: KC 4: LA 5: Seattle 6: RSL ---------------------------- 7: Portland 8: SJ 9: Houston 10: Colorado Shield: Dallas Cup: Vancouver US Open Cup: LA
MLS leading goal scorer: Sabo MLS MVP/Newcomer: Acosta MLS Most Improved: Marcelo MLS Cup MVP: Taylor Kemp Thx, Jay!
East 1: Crew (continuity and improved defense, younger players on upswing) 2: NE (continuity and built to score, slightly improved defense) 3: TFC (Giovinco and Altidore, finally paying attention to defense) 4: Montreal (Drogba/Piatti is deadly, but it's a long season) 5: Orlando (Larin is a beast and Kaka has some tools to work with, defense still suspect though) 6: NYRB (MLS will adjust and they can't stay healthy again like they did miraculously last year) ---------------------------- 7: DC (Enough said) 8: NYCFC (Still imbalanced and not enough defense) 9: Union (too many changes to gel quickly) 10: Fire (Too many changes as well, but also too many young players in key roles) West 1: Seattle (Built like DC to defend and steal a goal to win, but they have goal scoring talent) 2: Vancouver (This is their year, if Morales gets back to elite which I think he will) 3: FCD (Still just a tad too young and I don't think Urruti will make people forget Blas) 4: Portland (Not enough depth to repeat) 5: SKC (Solid, but only scorer is Dwyer and every team in MLS knows that, Davis<Nemeth) 6: LA (Too talented to totally tank, but it doesn't look good for them defensively) ---------------------------- 7: RSL (If Morales has one more year in him, they make playoffs, but I don't think he does) 8: Houston (Still doesn't thrill me and age in key positions too) 9: SJ (Built to defend, but tough to win when only Wondo scores and how long can that continue?) 10: Colorado (Seriously, totally inept rebuilding process and they had nothing to start with) Shield: Crew (weaker conference than west winner Seattle, who will wear down thru season) Cup: Vancouver (best combination of offense, defense, youth and depth to win late in year) US Open Cup: FCD (youth and depth will see them through) Golden Boot: Jozy Altidore, but Larin will push him if Kaka stays healthy Rookie: Jordan Morris Defender: Clarence Goodson Goalkeeper: David Ousted (as a do over from last year) Coach: Berhalter Fantasy winner: Utdmaniacs
You guys might want to check out San Jose's roster, they will be good (and those are words to choke on in October). East 1. Orlando 2. Toronto 3. Montreal 4. Columbus 5. DC 6. New England 7. RedBull 8. Chicago 9. Philly 10. NYC West 1. Portland 2. San Jose 3. Vancouver 4. Dallas 5. LA 6. KC 7. Seattle 8. RSL 9. Colorado 10. Houston Shield: Portland MLS Cup: Orlando US Open Cup: DC
Forever. In the last 6 seasons, 5 of those, he's score a minimum of 14 goals, and the one "off" season he scored 11. With steady goals in let's say 14 games per season. They have a realistic chance of winning 14 games. For a man at 33 years young, he's a steady scorer.
They actually manage to get the ball to him 3 feet from goal so he can tap it in. That requires a team capable of moving the ball up the field. I'm jealous. If we had that Sabo would have 14 goals per season. james
Still got a shot at it!! And leading the fantasy league too. Uh, please look away from the rest of my picks though..........
