Wait, NBC sponsors an EPL fan event in Austin and AFC is claiming a connection? That seems like a stretch.

The next event is in Miami. Let's hear how hundreds or thousands of people there are wearing black and verde.

 

Someone posted a comprehensive regular season attendance comparison in the MLS N&A boards that includes USL sides as well as NWSL and CPL teams. Based on a quick count, looks like the Bold finished 26th in the USL Championship in average attendance. Nine NWSL teams with higher averages than did Austin. Six Canadian Premier League teams did, as well.

I was surprised at some of the numbers. Lower division soccer seems to be drawing bigger crowds than it used to. At least as far as I can recall.

 

I'll admit, I was basing my thoughts on "the old days" to some extent--having attended a number of lower league matches in various locales.

And, of course, A*stin Bold are not Broccoli FC....

 

I saw rumors of an Austin NWSL team in near future. Hopefully that wasn't coming Fatface (cuz it won't happen) but rather maybe it's Bold's ownership to fill their stadium once the Fighting Broccolis start playing in the garbage dump behind the Discount Tire.

 

I wonder if they'll get 4000 to attend that specific event... It also depends which downtown because it seems that Austin has like 10 of them.

 

How do y’all feel about the teams in the final? Seems like a pretty boring matchup.

 

Better than LAFC and Atlanta, that's for sure.

 

Seattle and Toronto invented everything in MLS.

 

Initially I didn't think I cared who won the East, but then as I watched the game I realized I wanted Atlanta to lose.

None of the final four was I going to be happy seeing win a first or second Cup.

I do feel a *little* bit bad for Parky, but I think it will be great to see him around Mapfre and the new stadium.

 

Per her LinkedIn account, Alex Couch has left the organization and is now working for the Bengals for essentially the same job she had in Columbus and after being promoted in June to “Premium Services Manager”.

so that’s Alex, and at least that one dude on the Twitters that is claiming the stated season ticket count claim is 100% bullshit. I wonder how many others have come and gone in the 10 months they’ve set up shop down there?
