I'm hearing that #LAGalaxy are pushing hard to acquire #MNUFC winger Miguel Ibarra. They aren't the only ones - #RCTID and #Sounders are trying to make a deal for him, as well.— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) December 15, 2017
Indications are #MNUFC has intentions to use re-entry pick this afternoon on a defender. We’ll see. https://t.co/ebA9kJhmIa— Andy Greder (@andygreder) December 15, 2017
#MNUFC selects defender Tyrone Mears with the fourth pick of the 2017 @MLS Re-Entry DraftInfo » https://t.co/DJgjgaF4Yb pic.twitter.com/fPi691McC4— Minnesota United FC (@MNUFC) December 15, 2017 A 34 year old? eh? Meanwhile, #MNUFC selects fullback Tyrone Mears in Stage 1 of the re-entry draft. The Brit made 16 starts - and $183,756 - last year.— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) December 15, 2017 It's worth noting that Mears holds his green card, and therefore doesn't take an international spot for #MNUFC. Burch and Mears add veteran savvy out wide, but there's still a need for upgrades at fullback in my eyes.— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) December 15, 2017
REPORTS: Johan Venegas will be loaned to Costa Rican club Alajuelense...and he’s visiting the club and players now. https://t.co/s26TRisIEp— Northland Soccer Journal (@NorthlandSoccer) December 15, 2017
Teams can draft players that are out of contract or have had their options declineed by their clubs. Looks like only two players were pick3d up, so I am not sure how valuable it is.
After a few days of thinking about it, I am not as disappointed in the acquisition of Mears as I was. First and foremost, it is at least MLS experienced depth. It does not cost us an international spot. And not sure what kind of deals we were going to get on the reentry draft?
I do share a little of Alex's pessimism http://fiftyfive.one/2017/12/mls-offseason-roars-life-loons-keeping-quiet-let-us-pray-know-theyre/
At 1p CT, stage 2 of the #MLS re-entry draft kicks off. Teams making selections today can renegotiate players' contracts. #MNUFC took defender Tyrone Mears in Phase 1 - I would imagine they'll add someone today, as well.— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) December 21, 2017 Who #MNUFC should look at:Jose Villarreal, LASean Okoli, NYCJefferson Mena, NYCCordell Cato, SJMatias Laba, VWWho I suspect they're also considering:Lloyd Sam, DCUGonzalo Veron, RBNYCalum Mallace, SEA https://t.co/UWLOGyTy7i— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) December 21, 2017

Free agency, trades, and transfers will fill out the 2018 roster. https://t.co/YHdBUPk9HO— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) December 21, 2017
Note: #MNUFC loans midfielder Johan Venegas to a Costa Rican club. https://t.co/Tl6dqq3wvw— Andy Greder (@andygreder) December 21, 2017
Here’s a rumor for you https://www.metro.us/sports/source-minnesota-united-talking-deal-sacha-kljestan#.WjxBgOt6DJg.twitter
Last night, #MLS sources were telling me this was smoke and mirrors from #RBNY. Pitting other teams against #LAFC to raise their return in a deal. #MNUFC interested, but highly unlikely to beat the expansion side's offering. https://t.co/lfjXbmi6Zq— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) December 22, 2017
Michael Carrick's agent reached out to #MNUFC in 2015. Between spending 2016 in NASL and a multi-million dollar difference in opinion over his salary, the move never gained traction.— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) January 2, 2018
A scrap Sources telling me #MNUFC was scouting Belgium in late December. Confirmed that Loons were at Royal Excel Mouscron VS. Zulte-Waregem match on 23 Dec.— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) January 3, 2018
That we were scouting teams currently sitting 8th and 14th in the 16 team Belgian League doesn't exactly fill me with a lot of confidence.
There better be some tricks up Lagos's sleeve, because thus far he has proven to be a terrible sporting director. This off-season has been depressing.
I'm fed up...I'm starting my own rumor. Let's see if this gets traction... https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018/01/07/report-sami-khedira-mulling-eventual-mls-move NYCFC? Bah. Sami Khedira to Minnesota...because...Loons. (Popke...send it in.)
Follows up by saying two signings to be announced. One tomorrow, the other in two weeks, both from the same international team.— Wes Burdine (@MnNiceFC) January 9, 2018
