Well yeah it was a 8-1 lost to Germany for Fiji. Both Germany and USA teams are exceptionally consistent, solid and strong at this age group, they expected to dominate at pool stage with little trouble tbh, so large scores will blow out in certain games. I don't think you can really read much into the scoreline on the weaker teams against these strong teams and then turn around and predict how the same weak team do against a lesser than strong team in the next game would go.
well as a USA fan I'm pretty flattered by this, but I wouldn't say we are powerhouses by any means at this stage... we have been quite consistent in one thing... we tend to make it out of the group stages and then blow it early in the knockout rounds, although lately we've been having problems even qualifying for these tournaments but anyway.... congrats to the Kiwis and good luck in the 2nd round!
