    Bergamaschi for Galli.

Identical (but Wang Shanshan RM <=> RF Wang Shuang).

I am going to watch the game on TV, so I won't interact much here. ;)

I like very much the fact that Giacinti is starting.

01' 0-0 Giacinti digs ball away from Wang Yan at 35m mid-right, overhits a pass through arc right, too far for Girelli.

03' 0-0 Wang Shanshan slides and reaches for ball, clips Giugliano's right(?) knee. Foul, Italy fk at 30m mid-left, Wu Haiyan lets it bounce at 3m 3-left, Peng Shimeng reflex-catches the bounce high.

04' 0-0 China cross to 5m right post, headed away.

05' 0-0 Gu Yasha duels Guagni down wide left to 1m, Guagni shoulders her off ball, stops it, takes it the other way. Like Corredera stopping Rapinoe ;)

06' 0-0 Li Ying faces away at 25m box right waiting for a high drop, Linari header try disrupts both, ball drops almost untouched at their feet. Li spins ccw through box top right to 15m mid-right with Linari on her left, runs self into Bartoli, falls down, no call.

07' 0-0 Giacinti cross from 5m wide right to 5m center, headed away.

08' 0-0 Guagni cross from 30m wide right to 15m center, Girelli backpedals through box top, glances-heads wide left low.

10' 0-0 Girelli longball from midfield mid-right up centerline, Giacinti chases alone from 35m through box top center to 15m, shoots left instep past Peng Shimeng into 2/5 left back low. Offside by 1 full step.

Giacinti makes it 1-0. Not surprising when the Chinese Ds have more gaps between them than Swiss cheese.

Bartoli paid the price on that one too.:ninja:

13' 0-0 Bonansea harasses RB Han Peng dribbling backward, rushed square pass goes directly to Giacinti at arc top box left. Giacinti turns and shoots right instep with Peng Shimeng caught out at 6-top left, no bend at all, wide right high.

15' 1-0 Liu Shanshan chases backward at left touch, tries a turn-and-clear vs. tight pressure, Giacinti stuff-blocks ball up wide (her) right, chases to 14m wide right. Square pass to Bonansea at arc tangent right -- and Giacinti drifts inside, following the play. Bonansea tries a diagonal through-ball left for LB Bartoli unmarked through arc left. Ball deflects off Lin Yiping, down to 8m 2-left. Peng races Bartoli for it and slides, Bartoli toe-pokes ball off Peng(?) square right, takes cleats to her toes and does a front somersault, stays down. Ball deflects square right off Wu's calves, sits at 9m center. Giacinti arrives first and shoots left instep into back right low hard. After the play, brief stoppage for Bartoli ... she resumes?

China soccer is on the decline...From a world beater to a very average team, possibly eliminated by the first timer Italy

It's like they never recovered since the 1999 golden generation started being phased out.

China never were are world beater. Just had the luck that in the beginning of the game (wo)manpower did actually reflect in results. See also: the US.

Italy on the other hand have never been this decent day since the day of
    Patrizia Panico. Ca 2005ish

Chinese keeper very lucky to still be in this match. That tackle on the goal should have been red for SFP

I wondered if the defenders standing right beside her, the ones with the same distance to the goal, would have saved her from that. So just a yellow in that case?
