Actually, Laura Giuliani made at least one good save, when in the first half she deflected a Chinese shot over the crossbar with her fingertips.

Bertolini has to be up for the manager of the tournament award. No surprise she holds a UEFA Pro Licence.

FIFA official highlights of the game:

Is it so difficult to correctly spell Italian names? o_O The announcer spells Giacinti as "Jass-EEN-tee", while it should be "Ja-CHEEN-tee" and has the first "g" in Giuliani as a "dj" instead of a "j" as it should be.

China's coach was awful today, most of his tactics didn't make effort.

Many of the Chinese fans just say "we did our best".

But hell no, the whole team simply wasn't prepared for this game. They were told to press high in the beginning but Italy obviously were aware of that. They chose to cut off China's passes on the back and created many chances in the beginning. China did gain the upper hand in the later first half but obviously they didn't have good combination. Then Italy again pressed, scored then controlled the tempo by put on the striker and disturbed China's midfield. China wasn't even able to keep press to the attacking third when the situation was so bad and had some dangerous moment in the end. It's easy to see Italy has the higher discipline and tactic level. The Italy coach's tactic changes also owned Jia Xiuquan.

99% of the Chinese coaches are like that, all they know is set up bunker and counter with pace but didn't know how to build up attacks. That's why nearly no big clubs in China use Chinese coaches. Xia Xiuquan obviously didn't how to use the ace Wang Shuang well. She was put into rightwinger in the first few games, then was put in the right position this time but didn't have the support from teammates. Sacking Bini was a big mistake. He was able to bring up China to their best moment in this decade by get into the Olympics, but was sacked without a good reason. The China Football Federation almost never stopped to have power struggle and affect the team in a very negative way, so sad.

I think China needs to think and learn from the losses rather than think "task completed, couldn't do better". There is little chance to go back to the 99s fame but there are a lot to improve, especially compare to Japan.
