I don't know how else you would defend an indirect free kick in the box. You have to be 10 yards away, but you get to be on the field, so that would be everyone on the line.

This is a hard call to make at the youth level, because the obvious choice at that level would be to just blast the ball through the wall, thereby endangering the defenders.

Just make it a PK...lol...A ball returned to the keeper who is now like other players can not touch the ball by hands...

Unlike Onguéné and Nchout, Enganamouit was quite unimpressive for Cameroon so far in this torunament. I am aware that, as the only central FW, she had to do all of the hard obscure work, but I guess she's quite poor at technique and decision making, compared to her other offensive team-mates. :coffee:

With a better player up there Cameroon could have better exploited the counter-attacks that happen from time to time.

35' 1-0 White harasses Leuko to endline wide right, called for a foul?

36' 1-0 Houghton longball down box right, too far for Parris, Ngo Ndom comes across and picks it up.

37' 1-0 Onguene backpass, Ejangue scoops high over Duggan to Onguene. Greenwood kicks up wide left, White is fouled just behind midfield.

38' 1-0 Duggan pass centerward from circle top left intercepted by Nchout. Onguene drives down wide right 1-v-1 on Greenwood, cross from 5m over goal into left endzone.

So, England has been firmly in control for this half, but it took a keeper howler for England to take the lead. England is owning the middle third, but rather lackluster I'm the final third.

    This game:

    1. Whatever Cameroon does seems like they are doing it in slow motion and the most-ineffective way

    2. England have regressed since the Sampson era

40' 1-0 Parris holds at box top wide right. Backpass intercepted by Nchout, she curls up wide left to midfield. Square pass right to Feudjio, she clangs it away.

41' 1-0 Leuko longball to Enganamouit jumping at 27m arc left, contested header collected by Parris.

41' 1-0 Abam cross from arc top wide left, Houghton heads it high to 2m wide left, Bronze collects.

42' 1-0 Leuko(?) puts ball into near touch, Neville foot-traps

43' 1-0 England longball for Parris vs. Leuko at box top right. Leuko pokes away, Scott slides across and stuff-blocks ball forward. Parris crosses behind White's run at 13m right post, White deflects ball up to 15m 6-left, Ejangue bicycles it away.

44' 1-0 Kirby slides for a ball, clips and twists Johnson's left foot. Houghton plays ball into near touch. Stoppage, trainers, all others hydrate. Johnson walks off. +4'.

45+1' (of +4') 1-0 Cameroon left throw-in, to England. Johnson returns.

Of course, Cameroon has sucked in the final third as well.

One of the reasons the score is so low.

45+2' (of +4') 1-0 Bronze carries to arc top mid-right, continues down box mid-right and challenges a high bounce. White chases to 4m mid-right, cross blocked over.

45+3' (of +4') 1-0 Duggan left ck, poorly over goal into left endzone.

45+3' (of +4') 1-0 Off that gk, Yango counters to 30m center, through-ball toward Abam in mid-right. Onguene runs down box right unmarked, collects at 8m, hooks a backpass to nobody at arc right, England collect. And off that possession ...

Elbow in the face no red card, spitting on your opponent no red card. Where is VAR when you need it?

And as I write that, White's goal is allowed.

    England 2-0.
