Well a lot of teams in MLS now use FC so I think that point is moot. If a wordmark using NYC FC is to be used it can get tricky, when dealing with the colors. Here's just a quick something to show the NYC colors, found on the flag. Personally I don't think they'd ever go with these, they're too Mets looking.
Okay I know it's crooked, but if someone could fix this up I think I would love it. There's something in the simplicity of this that I like. Maybe it's too simple, but I like it. You have the five points for the five boroughs, the outline is the colors of New York City's flag, and the name of the team is in the MCFC sky blue. The circle that the fc is in even reminds me of the subway. I think this logo is very New York.
I took the Willis design and tweaked it. I moved three sides of the shield to face outwards so that the pentagram would resemble a sail, relating to the ship in City's logo. "NYC" replaces the "FC" initials, and the letter font is tweaked to better resemble the Yankees instead of the Giants/Mets. "NY" in white reps the Yankees, while "C" reps City, and pushes the "City FC" branding City wants. Below a smaller "FC," the bird at the bottom works as a variation of the birds prominent in the City logo and the NYC emblem.
The only thing we know about the badge is that it will not be the MCFC badge..According to Reyna that is.
Good effort..Not entirely sure that skyblue will be more than a secondary colour, navy-blue was also prominent during the presentations in NY. Hmm, NIKE..You know something we don´t?

It hardly matters, I was just a bit surprised by the Nike logo. Must admit that I´m curious about how they will design stuff myself. As a MCFC fan I would feel uneasy about a close resemblance to our own badge, shirt, colours etc but after what I read Reyna did mention that there was no way that the badge would be the same, the prominence of navy-blue on the promotion stuff also makes me think that it will be a colour used by NYC, perhaps in combination with sky-blue or something. I´m also convinced that a bit of cross merchandising might take place in regard to stuff like shirts so making them look the same might just be bad business.
[/quote] I was thinking maybe they could use the eagle behind a New York style crest with NYC in front of it like the Toronto FC Academy seal. Maybe the eagle could have in it's claws the Statue of Liberty torch or maybe just two old school soccer balls with a banner below it saying football club.
I like it. The Union are the only ones that have a rounder logo right now. That's a crazy amount of implementation on that page, too. However, the pessimist in me thinks Man City will put more of their mark on the logo than what's seen here.
In case you guys didn't know, this is a branding company in NYC that decided to have a go at this and make a proposal. I really hope NYCFC takes a good strong look at this. Its really good work.
If you're going to share something that is not your work, please note as much. We've had issues in the past of this.
