Since everyone #wontstopwatching, we can’t accommodate all the fans who want to come watch our August 18th match vs. @ReignFC. Should we move the game to Red Bull Arena so EVERYONE can come?— NJ/NY Gotham FC (@GothamFC) July 30, 2019
What about Ellis possibly coaching in NWSL??? Think she can handle a different coaching environment?????
Kirsten Hamilton had a spectacular month and was named Player of the Month. Makes for a nice highlight reel. Hammer has grafted, listened, pushed, & developed her game.Tremendously deserving. She is ultimate team player with boat load of tools. She is kind, funny, intelligent &has personality both in locker room& on field. Next coach of USWNT should b looking at this goal scoring pistol https://t.co/qiyychfhL3— PHR (@prileyfury4life) July 31, 2019
What speculation? We knew a few months ago that they had extended their Nike contract, and that the deal had been struck months before that. Why it took them so long to announce is the only weird thing here.
I was speculating that the MLS owners were pushing for them going with Adidas. (As long as it wasn't official, there was still a chance that they could've changed)
Also, speaking of months-old news, the NWSLPA Twitter account has reported that the $100k from the Hulu has come in.
I think you're mixing up "official" and "announced". The contract was signed (and thus official) long ago.
Sky Blue are declaring the Reign game a sellout... at Rutgers. If they *don't* move it to RBA soon, they're gonna get some huge PR backlash for making that public Twitter poll asking for a move.
It's not officially official until it's been officially announced. NWSL contracts aren't always as firm as they are from other entities. Wouldn't surprise me at all for them to have pulled out of the Nike deal somehow if they had gotten a better offer.
I like the notion of officially official. From there, we could go to "officially officially official" ans so on!
There's no such thing as an "official" contract -- the word "official" is redundant. If it's signed, it's a contract, whether it's publicly announced or not -- unless what's signed is simply an agreement to agree at some future time, which isn't a contract at all. And saying a contract is "officially official" is doubly redundant (which characterization itself probably includes a redundancy)!
Well the time is running out. Also they will have to refund the tickets of people who can't make it and get enough new people to buy tickets on short notice and market it. And they have to notify ESPN too, I assume. If they do want to move then they should do it ASAP.
I feel it was an unrealistic dream by SkyBlue to play the game at RBA. Why put that poll out there if there was only a 1% chance of it actually being played there?
Ugh, what devastating news, especially for someone so young. Hopefully, it was caught early, and she's a fighter. Kick cancer's f***ing ass, Toni!
Confirmed (last week, actually): new USWNT GM Kate Markgraf lists those three NWSL coaches as in the running for the USWNT Head Coach position, as well as FSU coach Mark Krikorian.
I wonder if the coaches on the list all have indicated an interest in the job. That's what I am guessing, and also that she wouldn't list coaches who otherwise might be on the list but have indicated they aren't interested.
