Keep in mind that Spanish and Italian are different. There are similarities, but, for some reasons, you have almost equal words in both languages, but with complete different meaning. So you could get really confused. The sound of the speech is different too. Much easier if you speak French, because the similar words are much more common in both of them. But the pronunciation is complete different. Anyway, the best way to learn a language is create a good dictionary and get acquainted with the "sound". Try to see some Italian movies (I foster "Il buono, il brutto e il cattivo") with Italian subtitles. Learn the meaning of the words. It's really easy to learn the sound, because every syllable has ALWAYS the some sound, no matter the word.

Vicina una bella ragazza! Brings me memories of Ann Marie my freshman year. Question - In high school, I took French, in college, two semesters of Italian. In neither case, were we taught the alphabet. I think that would be helpful with pronunciation. Anyone else have a similar experience?
The assumption is that we know the letters of the alphabet through use of English. But A in English is different than A in Italian. Now, the instructors would tell us that but never did I have to recite the alphabet in either language I studied in school. I found that odd and wonder if others had the same experience.
none of mine did its fundamental to understanding pronunciation. If I knew the spanish alphabet it make it easier for me to learn.
Tra l'altro, conoscere l'alfabeto è molto utile per la pronuncia perché le lettere si leggono sempre allo stesso modo! Devi solo aggiungere qualche digraph, come "gl", "ch", "gh" ... Non me ne vengono in mente altri. Ed hai imparato la pronuncia! Easy.
l'italiano è facile impararare...per lo meno per quanto riguarda la pronuncia. la grammatica è un altro discorso.
Eh sì. Pensa che l'anno scorso parlai con un' interprete americana Inglese Italiano, di Washington. Il suo italiano era eccezionale... Ma ogni tanto faceva qualche errore grossolano. Quando io ho vissuto a firenze, potevo distinguere e sentivo tanti errori dalla gente comune. Anch'io da italo-americano non sono perfetto con la lingua ed è inevitabile sbagliare ....ma tanti mi dicevano che parlavo meglio di loro.
Ah ma io non ho dubbi che parli meglio Soprattutto considerando che in Toscana usano un italiano arcaico. Termini che sono italiani, sì, ma del 1700 xD PS: non glielo dire che si incavolano [emoji23]
