Re: NSR/Off-Topic #8 On the topic of news, watching news like Sky is rediculous for a South African. About a fortnight back they were reporting about some guy in England being stabbed to death. If they reported all the stabbings, shootings, rapes, murders in South Africa...well it would be impossible! Hmm, just heard my grandfather has been rushed to hospital in an ambulance because he had a stroke
Re: NSR/Off-Topic #8 That's cos we're more civilised than you brutes. We're past that brutal stage now, we've matured. That's crappy! Is he alright now?
Re: NSR/Off-Topic #8 Well, it was that time to go ahead and reroll my ankle like a pro... gahhhh I was so mad. The past 3 games I've been playing exceptionally well, and yesterday I had already scored the first goal, and drew the pk for our third by getting my head slammed into the ground. 2 minutes later, I don't remember if I tripped over someone or if there was a 8 foot deep hole in the ground, but roll it went, pop it went, down I went. Piece of crap. On a good note, we play our worst opponent tomorrow, so I might just sit out and rest it... Tues we play our biggest opponent, which is why I DO have to rest it, because I'm playing in that match no matter what anyone tells me. Man, I hate ankles. /end rant
Re: NSR/Off-Topic #8 sorry to hear, I feel you though I finally played American Football yesterday for my intermural team and today i get to play some Soccer for the first time in TOO long.
Re: NSR/Off-Topic #8 It was taped when I rolled it . In other news, just proving the fact crazy gunmen can happen anywhere - Some dude ran through a highschool about 30 minutes away waving a gun and threatening people... then killed himself. Sigh.
Re: NSR/Off-Topic #8 You aren't gonna listen to me Kait ... but if your ankle isnt better by the time your game comes around you really should rest it otherwise you are just going to do more harm than good and pro-long the injury and risk missing many more games. appleCORR
Re: NSR/Off-Topic #8 wow, thats the worst thing I ever heard, not the gun stuff, although thats bad, but if taped ankles aren't immune to rolling
Re: NSR/Off-Topic #8 Our club physio used to advise us from taping our ankles because it actually made it worse it you did damage it I've never taped my ankles. appleCORR
Re: NSR/Off-Topic #8 Actually, I'm one step ahead of you. My trainer said it's ok to play on, which sort of pissed me off, but I talked to my coach, and today all I did was play a little bit of 4v4 on a heavily taped (mole skin tape? really heavy duty crap) ankle for about 20 minutes.. then we scrimmaged our jv team, and I sat there until he put myself and our other forward at center back to stand for about 10 minutes. I'm going to talk to him [my coach] about the match tomorrow, because we play the worst team in our conference (read as: an automatic 7-0 win), meaning, there is a lot of "kick push shove let's see if we can get at least one possession"... I don't need a kick in my ankle, so I'm going to see what he says about me maybe sitting out... Tuesday is way more important. The school that had the crazy gun teen is called North Meck - we were supposed to have a rematch against them on Monday, but it was called due to wind. It's pretty scary though.. the elementary, middle, and high school were all locked down.. then the crazy idiot shot himself. And now, NBC has received that tape from VT killer... what is this world coming to? Sigh. PS - apologies for superlongnovelpost.
Re: NSR/Off-Topic #8 I've never taped my ankles the only thing I tape is the area around my guards unless I find something to hold them Can't wait till Saturday going to the match vs the Dynamo its supposed to be a great night so I'll be taking pics for sure!
Re: NSR/Off-Topic #8 http://charlotte.com/109/story/90320.html Sigh. The news says one of the guys he threatened was his ex girlfriend's new boyfriend... and apparently he drove to the gas station, called his ex, said "I love you, I'm killing myself, goodbye," then shot himself.
Re: NSR/Off-Topic #8 Yea I know tape is a crutch, the whole idea of a proper tape job is that the tape takes the strain off the ligaments, which is clearly making ur bod dependant on the tape which is all sorts of bad, and obviously it allows you to play when u really shouldn't, but still it's better than pain killers! Personally I got mebe 5 years I can realistically still play so I'd much rather play every last minute and be crippled in later life, I honestly don't get people who preserve themselves for retirement!
