Hello, all, new to the board. I live in New Orleans and therefore follow the Jesters. They won 3-1 yesterday over Mississippi Storm in Ocean Springs, Miss. Goals from NOLA were scored by Luke Sheekey, Ryan Reid and Patrick Mullins -- the first and third off rebounds from botched saves by the MS goalie.

The Jesters have won their first two games this year (beat Houston last week), scoring eight and conceding two. Looking forward to being around here.

    NPSL Combine Details Announced
The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce that its inaugural combine will take place on January 9-12, 2015. It will be hosted at Broward Community College in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
“The game is growing tremendously in the NPSL both on and off the field,” NPSL Chairman Joe Barone stated. “I hope to do my part to continue to expand the development of the game. The NPSL Combine is an important initiative, providing another opportunity for professional coaches to look at the exceptional talent that our league has to offer. It is very evident that the Combine/Technical Committee has done an excellent job in planning for this event.”
The combine will provide an excellent opportunity for the best players in the NPSL to be evaluated by the top professional coaches in the U.S. This event is exclusive to registered NPSL players from the 2014 season. The player pool for the combine will consist of no more than 18 players per region, including the West, the Midwest, the Northeast, and the South. The selected players will represent their respective regions in inter-regional matches.
All NPSL clubs are responsible for nominating their top players for consideration to represent their region. Nominations will be reviewed, vetted, and selected by the Combine/Technical Committee, which is led by Chairman Kenny Farrell (New Orleans Jesters) and Co-Chairman Chris Hanlon (Joplin Demize). Nominated players will be asked to follow up with their bios and references. Players will be notified of their selection by November 26th, 2014, and the deadline for acceptance is December 8th, 2014. Instructions for acceptance will be included with each player invitation. If any player is unable to accept, or does not reply by the acceptance deadline, alternates will then be selected and notified.
Details on costs will follow as the NPSL attempts to keep attendance and participation as cost-friendly as possible for players. Clubs are strongly encouraged to support their selected players’ participation in the combine.
As part of a two-year agreement, PUMA, the technical sponsor of the NPSL, will also serve as the combine’s official sponsor.

DEPORTIVO CORAS USA JOINS THE NPSL
The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce that Deportivo Coras USA (Riverside, CA) has joined the league as an expansion team.
“We are excited to add a team in the Inland Empire,” NPSL Chairman Joe Barone stated. “Deportivo Coras USA has a great tradition of excellence and we are looking forward to working with them for many years to come.”
The club was formed in 1969 with a history of winning championships in Southern California. Now over 40 years later, the club has been reborn with a high level of competition, a loud and passionate fanbase, and a strong business structure. The team also boasts an affiliation with Deportivo Tepic FC, a well-known professional club from Mexico.
Home matches will be played on the campus of La Sierra University.
Deportivo Coras USA is led by club president/majority owner Robert Lopez-Guardado, Director of Club Operations Andres Otañez, and head coach David Trevino.
“The NPSL was the best choice for our club because of its professionalism and rapid growth during the last few years,” Lopez-Guardado remarked. “We wanted a league with plans for growth in the U.S. and we understand that great plans are ahead for this league.”
Otañez is responsible for the daily operations of the club, which has included securing the club’s home field at La Sierra. He has many years of experience working in soccer, including serving as the head coach of Elsinore HS in Wildomar, CA.
Trevino led Deportivo Coras USA to the 2014 SoCal Premier Championship and 2014 California State Championship in just his first year in charge. Trevino enters his fifth year as an assistant coach at La Sierra University. Trevino joined the coaching staff there after playing his collegiate career at La Sierra, where he was a four-year starter and captain. Trevino was also a standout player with the Los Angeles Bolts of the PASL.
“We are now eager to join the NPSL in our inaugural season as we continue to pursue the dream that began in 1969,” Lopez-Guardado added.
