NPSL is proud to announce that Boca Raton Football Club (Boca Raton, FL) has joined the league as an expansion team. The club will compete in the South Region’s Sunshine Conference.
“We are extremely excited to have Boca Raton FC as part of the NPSL,” NPSL Chairman Joe Barone commented. “They bring a very professional organization and a proven brand to one of our strongest conferences. We are thrilled to again be growing the game in Florida.”
Boca Raton FC is led by President Douglas Heizer and player/brand ambassador Marcio Amoroso.
“We are aiming on being a competitive club in the difficult Sunshine Conference,” Heizer added. “We know that there are many amazing clubs in our conference but hope to stay competitive and give a professional experience to not only our fans, but also all the visiting teams that play us in Boca Raton.”
Boca Raton Football Club most recently played in the American Premier Soccer League (APSL), where the team has won two straight league championships in 2015 and 2016. Founded in 2015, Boca Raton has found success in its infant stages and has played international friendlies with the Jamaican National Team, the New York Cosmos, and European powerhouse Shakhtar Donetsk. Boca Raton FC also has its High-Performance Academy as well as a partnership with Barcelona Elite, which gives Boca Raton a complete soccer pyramid effect that starts when a child is seven years old until they are ready to turn professional.
“We hold ourselves to the highest standards and we hope to continue that in the NPSL,” Heizer concluded. “We also have a strong marketing team which we hope will be helpful for not only our club, but also the rest of the conference with our deep reach in other countries such as Brazil and Spain.”
More information about the club can be found at www.bocaratonfc.comor by following the club on Facebook (@bocaratonfc), Twitter (@bocaratonfc), and Instagram (@bocaratonfc). Boca Raton FC’s official YouTube channel can be found at www.bocaratonfc.tv.

NPSL is proud to announce that Minneapolis City SC (Minneapolis, MN) has joined the league as an expansion team. The club will compete in the Midwest Region’s North Conference.
“We are very excited to add to our league’s footprint in Minnesota,” NPSL Chairman Joe Barone commented. “Minneapolis City SC brings a proven brand and a strong following to our Midwest Region. They represent a great start to our announcement of the newly rebranded North Conference.”
Minneapolis City SC is led by Managing Director Dan Hoedeman, Sporting Director Jon Bisswurm, Business Director Sarah Schreier, Community Director Nick Sindt, and Head Coach Adam Pribyl.
The first of the club’s three founders, Hoedeman is a Minneapolis native and lifelong soccer player who works in the advertising business. Bisswurm, a childhood friend of Hoedeman’s, played at Kaiserslautern in Germany before returning to America. He is currently undefeated as a coach in U.S. Open Cup play. Sindt rounds out the team of founders and focuses on community outreach.
One of the few women in a leadership position at a club in this level, Schreier is a visionary and creative thinker who is deeply involved with the club. She was a standout youth player at Minneapolis suburban club PSA. A lauded goalkeeper at St John’s, Pribyl is athletic director at Minneapolis’ DeLaSalle High School.
“We bring a lot of passion, a fantastically talented set of players, and a weirdly successful social media game that has significantly raised interest in this level of soccer in Minnesota,” Hoedeman added. “Hopefully that gets soccer in the North a little more recognition nationally.”
Minneapolis City SC is a supporter-owned club that is committed to developing Minnesota’s top amateur players and giving them a platform to compete on a national level. Often called ‘the people’s club,” City is a labor of love and the result of hard work and dedication from a large cross-section of Minneapolitans who see soccer as a way to make a difference in their community. Founded as an extension of Stegman’s Soccer Club, 14-time Minnesota amateur champions and nine-time Minnesota Cup winners, City exclusively fields players who call Minnesota home. A strong community focus includes specific outreach to and financial support of players, outreach to inner communities, and engagement with urban youth clubs.
“We want to create a platform for Minnesota’s top amateur players to develop and showcase their talents,” Hoedeman concluded. “We’re a small state soccer-wise, but the talent is here and we want to test ourselves at a national level.”
More information about the club can be found at www.mplscitysc.comor by following the club on Facebook (@mplscity), Twitter (@mplscitysc), and Instagram (@mplscitysc).

NPSL is proud to announce that Duluth FC (Duluth, MN) has joined the league as an expansion team. The club will compete in the Midwest Region’s North Conference.
“We are happy to continue to grow our brand in Minnesota with Duluth FC,” NPSL Chairman Joe Barone commented. “They bring an impressive structure focused on engaging the community and growing the beautiful game. Our fans and supporters in the Midwest should be very excited about this announcement.”
Duluth FC is led by Founders Tim and Gabriela Sas, Head Coach Kyle Bakas, and Assistant Coach/Player Manager Mike Sengbush. Tim also serves as the team’s General Manager, while Gabriela focuses on ticketing and merchandise.
The BlueGreens began as a group of men playing the beautiful game in the Duluth, Minnesota. The founder is Tim Sas, a local priest, who assembled a team at the prompting of a friend in a joke over a tea at a local café. In the summer of 2015 the Duluth FC played in the Duluth Amateur Soccer League (DASL). Duluth FC then joined the American Premier League (APL) for the 2016 summer season, while continuing to field a team in the DASL.
“We are a young club who has developed a good relationship with the city we call home,” Tim Sas added. “We have lots of volunteer supporters and engage well with our fans. Our club’s short but unique history informs our preparations for the future. In 2016 our club was undefeated in the American Premier League and we believe that our competitiveness on the pitch will only increase for this year.”
Duluth FC truly lives by the motto of “The Beautiful Game in the Beautiful City.” The club has as part of its founding a Christian connection, thus they strive to serve the community based on Christian principles. They tithe their income to local charities. All youth 15 years old and younger get into home matches with the donation of non-perishable food items, which are then donated to local food banks. All of the Duluth FC players and staff are involved in spending time with disadvantaged children in the city.
The Public Schools Stadium, adjacent to Duluth Denfeld High School in Duluth, will host home matches for Duluth FC. The facility has excellent amenities and provides an impressive experience for 3,000 spectators. Additionally, it is within one block of numerous restaurants and bars that support the club and players.
More information about the club can be found at www.duluthfc.com or by following the club on Facebook (@DuluthFC), Twitter (@DuluthFC), and Instagram (@DuluthFC).

No, it was announced on Twitter, for sure.

Greater Lowell United and CSL USA are very active with each other on Twitter (retweeting each other and such). Not sure why the "official" announcement is not present anymore. But, I did see it for sure.

The founder/owner of Greater Lowell, Manny Andrade, is close with CSL USA's pointmen in New England. The issue might be about who owns the name and logo of the original Greater Lowell that has been in NPSL.

NPSL is proud to announce that City of Angels FC (Los Angeles, CA) has joined the league as an expansion team. The club will compete in the West Region’s Southwest Conference.
“We are thrilled to see the NPSL brand grow to include the LA market,” NPSL Chairman Joe Barone commented. “We are very excited about the direction of this new club and know that our fans and supporters will remember this day for many years to come.”
The club will be led by PJ Harrison and Joe Sumner.
Harrison is a creative director who has worked with artists including Lauryn Hill and also served as a creative and branding consultant for Everton FC. Sumner is a musician and tech entrepreneur.
“The purpose of City of Angels FC is to reflect the area and its culture while being a proactive and inspiring part of the city with the local community at its heart and ultimately to provide a club culture the city can be proud of and one that can provide an alternative choice in the world-famous LA sporting landscape,” Harrison said. “There’s a world-class sporting heritage in Los Angeles and we want to write our own chapter.”
More information about the club can be found by visiting www.cityofangelsfc.la.
“We know we’ll be starting from modest roots and it’ll take some time to really find what will set this team apart on and off the field, but that’s the great thing about the city of Los Angeles; it quickly shapes every newcomer in a profound way,” Sumner added. “The city has a deep sense of optimism and we want supporters to believe in the future of what this team could be, to become part of it and to help build it.”
Fans and supporters can also follow the club on Twitter (@cityofangelsfc) and Instagram (@cityofangelsfc).
“We’re building a leadership in the club that reflects the best of LA,” Harrison concluded. “People born and bred in LA and people who were pulled towards the excitement and beauty of this city. We’re very happy with the team we have so far and importantly, we’ll seek to continue to add to the membership of this club, whether leadership or grassroots supporters. We just got the ball rolling. The club belongs to the city now.”

“We are very happy to see the NPSL brand grow again in Minnesota,” NPSL Chairman Joe Barone commented. “Our fans and supporters should be excited to be part of this soccer hotbed. VSLT FC brings a great deal to our league and we are very happy to have them as part of the NPSL family.”

NPSL is proud to announce that Sioux Falls Thunder FC (Sioux Falls, SD) has joined the league as an expansion team. The club will compete in the Midwest Region’s North Conference.
“The NPSL has grown into many new markets in 2016,” NPSL Chairman Joe Barone commented. “We are so very excited to see the NPSL brand taking hold in South Dakota. Sioux Falls Thunder FC is proving to be yet another incredible addition to the North Conference.”
Amadu Myers will lead the club as general manager.
Myers was born in Liberia, but his my family soon moved to Ivory Coast. Growing up in a rough environment in Ivory Coast, all he did was play soccer because that was the only thing that kept him going. He moved to the U.S in December of 2004 with his grandparents and joined the Great Plains Soccer Club. In 2007 he went on to play soccer for Lincoln High School and won the state championship in 2008.
Myers was a regular at Sioux Falls Spitfire matches and going to those games on the weekend provided him with some of his greatest memories. In 2015 he had the opportunity to play for FC Fargo and helped lead the team to the American Premier League (APL) Championship. Myers has personally been working on bringing a soccer team to Sioux Falls for the past few years and now he has the opportunity to bring this a high level of soccer to his beloved community.
“We joined the APL to compete in our Northern States area, but we are happy that the APL Board of Directors decided to merge with the NPSL,” Myers added. “We voted in favor of this merger because we believe our club can compete in the national structure.”
Home matches will be played at O’Gorman HS in Sioux Falls. The facility has all the necessary amenities, including locker rooms and restrooms, to provide a great atmosphere on gameday.
“Sioux Falls has lots of good soccer players and by joining the NPSL in the North Conference our fans get to see our players face other good teams in our region,” Myers concluded. “To continue to build on our relationship with the fans while competing for a playoff spot and to grow our rivalries with the other North Conference teams.”
More information about the club can be found by following the club on Facebook (@SFThunderFC), Twitter (@SFThunderFC), and Instagram (@sfthunderfc).

Do you have a link for Tampa? I cannot find where they have announced moving to PDL....most people think they will but I have not been able to find any confirmations. The Rowdies took Rowdies2 off of the website, and their Facebook and Twiter are way out of date. At the moment it would seem they are just dead.
