BTW, with the exception of Enyimba, the clubs are arranging friendlies against NNL clubs (which also hasn't restarted, but they are dealing with match fixing allegations)
I'll believe it when I start seeing score updates. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/08/npfl-resumes-august-12/
The gist of it is there is a power struggle within the NFF. Charles Giwa (former owner of Giwa FC, I'll get back to that later) is claiming that he is the president of the NFF. Amadu Pinnik is the elected and CAF and FIFA recognized president. Giwa took the NFF to court over this, and the court ruled in his favor. Kinda. Anyway, Giwa tried to convene his board, but was forced out of the building (Glass House) by the Department of State Security on orders of the President of Republic of Nigeria. The league somehow allowed itself to be dragged into this mess (the league is supposed to be "independent" of the board, but well, this is Nigeria).
4pm has come and gone and no league action. Newest rumored date is 19 Aug. I have a feeling that it won't restart until after the NFF elections, which are scheduled for 20 Sep.
