Ha...I bet one of them could have been my HS teacher Sneakers Callahan. She was a pip.

Bye the bye, do kids still have nicknames for their teachers. We had Mime Warren, Pepere Hurley, Spike O'Roark and Ma Brown among others.

Disney donated to the Notre Dame reconstruction. Disney makes movies about princesses. They might want a payback for their donation in a form of princess art.

Come on, it’s convoluted rationale but we know Rafael is sick in his head.

I’m sure it’s possible to discern a horrible person from an inept person. But maybe that’s just me.

At the time, I believe he was like me in not knowing what the hell was said/done to elicit the remark made by Cruz.

One place being as holy or holier than another is really quite subjective. Personally, I don't find either any more holier than the other, and less than Buddhist temples in Japan or Tibet or other places. But both the 16th Street Baptist Church and Notre Dame matter to me, socially and historically, but for different reasons. superdave is Catholic, so I would assume Notre Dame has a greater holier meaning to him than the 16th Street Baptist Church, while it is obviously opposite to you. Getting in the which one is holier than the other, IMO, misses the point that both have great historical value and should both be funded and rebuilt.

Holy is your word, not mine. You’re copying independent centrists now.

Also, then I guess the parking lot in front of the JC Penney’s at North Hills is 25% more holy after the mass shooting there in 1972.

Oh wait, you already established that black lives count more. Never mind.

    You racist prick.

That's a much better reply than our new centrist was able to muster in his latest emo rant.
Yes, I could have said "as holy as", but we were already dealing with the statement that ND was holier because value.

I'm fortunate enough to live somewhere that such a distinction is completely unnecessary.

Actually, Dave didn't bring up holiness- I did. But I stand by my statement that cultural value is not a good way to defend the relative lack of funds these Black churches have received.

The wealth of the Catholic Church is obscene and donations to rebuilding Notre Dame are more for the vanity of the donor.

Having said that, the donations to support any congregation come from within.

I got out my pics of ND from  20 years ago. So beautiful. I have this amazing picture of just a gargoyle with the city below. It's like he's watching over everyone. :(
