Interesting to see this thread, as players like Kobayashi, Masuda and Escudero are far more famous (and better) than players like Okuno, Maruyama and Seto, but yet they are classified as "not-so-famous" players while the others got their own threads:p

all of those threads have different reasons. Akahoshi was the real reason that thread was opened, he deserved it, but since his team had two other japanese players, it didn't make any sense to also not put their names there.

Seto is actually a good player who got attention from both Zac and Vahid, while none of the ones you mentioned did (though I think Masuda received a call years ago). His team also played Europa League last season.

Kobayashi is just enjoying life in the MLS, if he was setting the league on fire we'd probably have a thread. Masuda and Escudero play in the K-League.
That said, there are no specific rules. If you think a player deserves a thread, do it.
For example Ibusuki was playing in the 3rd div. in Spain but he was doing so well (back then in Sevilla) that it was interesting to follow his development, we were also hoping that he could land in 2nd div.

Playing in K.League shouldnt automaticaly mean they dont deserve a thread lol. Arguably the K.League is way better than some of the leagues the others are playing in=)

Obviously its not as "exciting" for European fans ( which most of us in here are) to see them there as it would be to see them in a decent league in Europe, but its a bit funny still, and also kind of strange to see at best mediocre players that would most likely struggle to hold down a regular spot in J2 get "that kind of attention" when others are being ignored!

Maybe we should make a "Japanese players in K.League-thread", and then some of the people from the K.LEague-forum might join in every now and then as well=) And a similar one for "Japanese players in Thailand", since there are quite a lot of Japanese players there now.

    Escudero is in China now.

Arguably Kobayashi plays for the best team of the lot, but he's a rotation player at best for the Revs. Still, the team plays some attractive football so they're worth checking out.

Again, I'm pretty sure that if we had a striker scoring nicely in K-League there would be a thread, it's not about the league =). But the players who are there are not that interesting. Who's left there? Baba and Masuda?
We have a thread for Takahagi even if he's "only" playing in Australia, or had one for Ono.

And again, I don't think that neither Akahoshi (top assist man of the whole league last season), or Seto, would struggle to hold down a regular spot in J2.

Absolutely, there would be no problem. But usually I remember a guy (I think it was CoreanBoy) who used to report stuff from K-League back when Escudero was doing nicely there, but apart from that good season with Seoul... since then, well, basically there was nothing to report. Masuda even barely played with Omiya last year.
As for Thailand, we can do it but I'm not sure who is following it? The level there admittedly is still a bit too low.

    It's a tryout event.
Yuto Kubo and Eito Furuyama are players under L&F management, which seems to be owned by one of the 4 guys who handle the screening. Wakui is also under them.
One plays for Celje, 2° in the Slovenian league, and the other one for NK Radomlje which was just relegated.

Takahagi was introduced to the coaching staff today. Our manager, Choi Yong-soo, acted as his translator in this video. (He speaks conversational Japanese because he played in Japan for 5 years). Also, Takahagi will be introduced on June 27 at half time when FC Seoul play against Suwon Bluewings.

I wouldn't say that when you have no clue about what happened. Maybe the released players had better offers.

The club got some big money this year and expanded the budget nicely so I bet he'll get much more than he ever head seen in Montenegro. Good for him.

If he has a very good season in Zaragozza, who knows. But currently, there are better options...
