Don't know if you've already seen this stuff, but here it is not the ref who's blind. Amazing stuff, really. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8i9m0JZvJY&feature=player_embedded"]YouTube - IBSA World Blind Football Championship 2010 - The Final[/ame]
On a sporting note, last week I was in Friesland and completed the cycling version of the Elfstedentocht: 250km in 12 hours 40 minutes. Not the greatest, but the headwinds were killer!
that is pretty amazing goalies should be blind too though and I would so school those guys! like when I play with my son's U-7 team! (ok last 2 comments in very poor taste - could not resist)
completely off topic but anybody here play table soccer (e.g., Subbuteo)? Just bought a new game - will play with kids when I get it in a week. I'm such a geek but I LOVED it growing up - would have WC tournaments on my own and with friends.
That is what this thread is for! Love table soccer. There was a table at the summer sports camp I went to growing up. There were a ton of European kids at this camp so the level of competition was really high. To this day I'm still a decent player because of it.
cool - my dad brought it back from the Netherlands when I was 11 or 12. Was supposed to be a Xmas gift but I nagged so much that he said fine, I'll give you 3 guesses and if you get it right you can have it early. Got it on my 1st guess! Could never play as Oranje as I would cheat too much - even playing solo!
Oh you know what I think my idea of table soccer is different than this Subbuteo game...I am thinking of fussball.
this is it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subbuteo [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sSrjRbi0UM&feature=related"]YouTube - Subbuteo News 9 2010[/ame]
I used to be a huge NFL Football fan before I really got into watching soccer, but it's just really boring to me now.
I used to be a huge niners & A's fan when I lived in the US, but that kind of faded away over the years. Loved it when I was there though.
If you haven't noticed my contributions to the baseball thread, I've not exactly stopped watching baseball.
We just showed Kentucky the best horses are (still) Dutch, and they know it as the stands emptied to watch Totillas warm up By the way, has anyone metioned that Yolanthe was wanted by the Dutch Justice for traffic offenses. She was (among other perpetraitors) summoned to come to Leeuwarden to the Court of Justice. This action is done when the Justice department has no idea where you are...

learning Dutch here... I could not find anywhere where is ok to use "Welk" and when to use "Welke"... as in... "welk overhemd vind u mooier?" or "welke trui is duurer?" so, uhm,.... yeah
Het vragend voornaamwoord welk blijft onverbogen vóór het-woorden in het enkelvoud. Als welk voor een enkelvoudig de-woord of voor een zelfstandig naamwoord in het meervoud staat, krijgt het een buigings-e. Got it?
erm... in words that use "het" in singular form is "welk"? And in plural and the rest of the words is "welke"? Im still learning the basics here
You can only use 'welke' for plural, or in the singular, for male and female nouns. For example, it's DE trui. So you can use welke trui. But it's HET overhemd. So you can only use welk overhemd in the singular.
