That kinda pisses me off. They are both potential starters. Andy is only 29 and Stephen 21. Does Stephen not want to play in a World Cup?

Norway update : Withdrawals because of injuries : Jan Gunnar Solli Eirik Bakke Jon Inge Høiland Steffen Iversen was sent home because he overslept for 12 AM training today ! John Carew might also withdraw because of injury . New in : Kristoffer Hæstad Muhammed Abdellaoue Danilel Fredheim Holm All from Vålerenga.
We have a fully fit squad, they will train in Oslo this evening. Lineup predictions? I think we'll see: -----------Given---------- Finnan, Dunne, O'Shea, Kilbane McGeady, Reid, Reid, Duff -------Keane, Doyle----- or else a 4-5-1, with Glenn Whelan or Joey O'Brien stepping into midfield in place of Kevin Doyle.
Daryl Murphy with a shout for starting up front? Finished the season in fairly good form for Sunderland and is currently starting in the EPL (at least until Jones gets back). I can't see Trap relying on Skillbane for the upcoming campaign. Would rather see O'Brien in at CB and O'Shea out left.
O'Brien has retired and recently said he will not be returning for this game (or ever I guess), which at least is more than Stephen Ireland did
Starting XI: Given, Finnan, Dunne, O'Shea, Kilbane, Duff, Steven Reid, Miller, McGeady, Keane, Doyle. Andy Reid must have a knock or not be fully fit - no way does Miller start ahead of him on merit.
That XI was incorrect, Andy Reid is left on the bench in favour of the more defensive Glenn Whelan. Well, we'll see how it works. Republic of Ireland: Given (Newcastle United); Finnan (Liverpool), O’Shea (Manchester United), Richard Dunne (Manchester City), Kevin Kilbane (Wigan Athletic); Aiden McGeady (Celtic), S. Reid (Blackburn Rovers), Whelan (Stoke City), Duff (Newcastle United); Keane (Liverpool), Doyle (Reading).
HT - Norway 0 Rep. Ireland 1 44 GOAL!!! Keane scores. The Liverpool man shows close control to cut in from the right and fires past Jarstein from close range. Ireland, deservedly, go in at the interval one goal in front. They have showed much more intent and Keane took his 34th international goal excellently. I expect more goals in the second half, but their are bound to be substitutions.
Latest: Norway 1 Rep. Ireland 1 60 GOAL!!! Norway score through Tore Reginiussen. A free-kick from wide causes problems in the Ireland box. Kiely flaps and the ball deflects off the helpless Kilbane to leave Reginiussen with a simple tap-in.
The poor pitch conditions caused by the torrential rain has affected the play in the second half. With 4 minutes to go plus stoppage time, lets hope they can hold out for a draw or push on and grab a late winner.
