Well they were in a difficult group. They tied against Canada and beat Germany. Both are good teams. I wouldn't call that underperforming.
I would. Their U-17 team are one of the best in the world. Their worst finish was 4th in this tournament.
btw, it's a bit sad that he and the other player aren't called up for their NT anymore since they moved, because they would actually add some good quality to the team.
And Pak Kwang-Ryong scores again today against FC Biel, and his team won 3-1 today. So that makes it 4 goals and 3 assists in 6 games.
hmm, then I hope to see them in the Asian Cup, I guess. Btw, Pak scored. He's really good, I hope Vaduz buys him next year. 4 goals in the last 4 matches. edit: damn you
It would be interesting to see how Jong Tae-Se and Pak Kwang-Ryong works together up front in 2015 Asian Cup. A couple more seasons in Switzerland, I reckon he could have a shot at playing in the Bundesliga, which Pak said was his dream.
if he can stay in Vaduz next season in the first league, that will be his crucial test. If he does well he can definitely go higher. If Basel keeps him, I don't see it ending well (= spending most of the time on the bench)
An Byong-Jun, the "heir to Chong Tese", gets a start for injury depleted Kawasaki Frontale against Kashiwa Reysol. Raw but looks lively. EDIT: He comes off at half-time.
Ri Kwang-Chon return in DPRK's 25 April: http://calciocorea.altervista.org/ri-kwang-chon-rientra-in-patria/
Pak Kwang-Ryong with 9 goals and 3 assists with just 13 starts for Vaduz this season. He is one goal off from the club's top scorer in the league this season.
@Dax and@naopon Is Ryang Yong-Gi still the captain for Vegalta Sendai? He's surprisingly low profile in comparison to the successful career he had in the J-Leauge. Cha Jonh-Hyok's contract at FC Wil runs out this June. Interested to see what he would do, maybe he has a shot at a Swiss Super League club?
I agree. For a 21 year old, he has a plenty of experience in senior football, both at professional and international level. Too late for a unified Korea team?
Kim Song-Gi's goal in J2 League match for Mito Hollyhocks against Oita Trinita (2014.3.2) @0:49- An Yong-Hak's assist in J2 League match for Yokohama FC against Jubilo Iwata (2014.4.20) @0:01-
I was confused by your post but he has indeed scored against Locarno, you just linked the wrong video @ 0.56 good stuff, although marking leaves to be desired in this division . I think the level it's a bit like J2 and worse at times, but Vaduz seems a good team instead. I really hope that his talent won't be wasted when he comes back in Basel. Yes, afaik he is. He's looks low profile because he hasn't been called up anymore I guess... . North Korea has been weird in their callups. (Ryang was great even he was in J2) It's complicated as I remember that there is a swiss businessman behind this whole north-korean-players-in-switzerland and it's no coincidence they all started in Wil. Yet, Pak moved to Basel so I guess it's possible...
I've heard about this. Apparently the move to Basel for Pak only happened because FC Wil had maxed out on foreign player quota (I think they had another North Korean Kim Kuk-Jin there at the time along with Cha Jong-Hyok).
Pak Kwang-Ryong has won another silverware yesterday, the Liechtensteiner Cup, with Vaduz yesterday, as they beat Eschen/Mauren 6-0 in the final. Pak scored the 6th goal on the 83rd minute. FC Vaduz qualifies for the Europa League next season. Goal @6:42 EDIT: Pak giving a cheeky tug at the captain @10:41 .
