. . . and I'm sure we Democrats were plenty insufferable during the Bush years.

No, no matter how insufferable and crazy we may have been, we still weren't Glen Beck.

When MSNBC gives Code Pink it's own TV show, then we'll be even.

Why, what did Beck do? He'd have to go pretty far to beat Bernie Ward, for instance.

I hadn't heard of Ward, so I googled him. Okay, you're correct: thus far, Beck hasn't engaged in any child porn.

    . . . that we know of!

So what's caused Beck to jump onto your radar screen? I didn't really take much notice when he was on CNNHN and I haven't seen his show on Fox, so I don't have much of an opinion of him. I seem to recall he had (has?) a radio talk show that wasn't all that interesting. But I have seen him crowing on O'Reilly about having some great ratings on Fox, is that why you've started loathing him?

I've only seen clips posted online, featuring Beck warning us of the upcoming apocalypse, the fascism of the Obama administration (complete with photos of Mengele), that kind of thing. On a recent episode, he also doused somebody on the set with (fake) gasoline and then started yelling into the camera, "Why don't you just set us on fire, Obama!?!?!" I'm not making this up.

It's like Bizarro-world Mel, minus the thesaurus. (Then again, I imagine that part of being Bizarro-world Mel would mean that you use small words.)

Something tells me that stuff will get tired real quick. Making fun of liberals was what made Rush a star, getting angry at them gets annoying. But then, that's why I don't watch Hannity much anymore and it doesn't seem to have hurt him. The only time I like the Hannity show now is when Ainsley Earhart does a special report. Trading Colmes for her was an upgrade.

The only difference between Glen Beck and Keith Olbermann is Keith Olbermann fancies himself as a serious journalist... as does his audience.

I think - in fairness - you need to watch Glenn Beck's show, at least once, to form an opinion. Do so then come back and criticize it if you wish.

It was an excellent analogy... watch this whole episode. You'll learn something. Obama is ruining the country in little bits; i.e., dousing it with gasoline... that was Glenn's point. Full disclosure... this same concept - analogy - was used previously... by Thomas Paine in Common Sense, an influential historical tract of which you may have heard ...

Surely you jest... perhaps Glenn Beck is direct... more direct than you are prepared for... but the march toward Communism and government control by Washington demands frank talk and honest assessment... I find Glenn refreshing... enlightening... but more than that...educational... since the liberal media have yet to report on Obama. The ratings for Glenn Beck are huge... many feel as I...

I don't think that Olbermann fancies himself as a journalist. He seems pretty clearly to acknowledge that he's a pundit.

The issue I take with comparisons to Olbermann and Michael Moore is that, although they're accurate, the number of popular right-wing cranks outnumbers them. Limbaugh is the right-wing Moore, Bill O'Reilly is the right-wing Olberman . . . that still leaves Coulter, Malkin, Hannity, Beck, and Savage (not to mention the many lesser lights) unmatched.

Does Olbermann bring on guests with an opposing point of view?

BTW, I watched Beck yesterday and his show was not real great, but not anything close to code pink. I guess he's decided visual aids are his gimmick, he had some 50-cent pendulum with two people pushing it back and forth to illustrate the political swing between more and less government. Ho hum.

Coulter isn't a crank, she's a very astute and funny political commentator and author. Libs hate her because she ridicules them and hits all their raw nerves, libs can't take the abuse they dish out. And you forgot Laura Ingraham and Mark Steyn, aren't they worthy of your loathing?

The Republicans - including Beck - have no credibility on this issue. This very well might be the end of the U.S. as we know it and Obama is helping to kill of f the Nation but Bush was just as bad or worse on this monster debt we now have. And the Republicans cheered when we went into debt to fight phony wars.
