I'm just wondering, but what exactly are your sources? I trust your information, but I'm curious as to who you're hearing this from.
I personally think those clubs are too high up the food chain for their skill set. Jones simply has no touch on the ball. Surprised a team like Schalke is interested. Booth is a better prospect but not Bayern's level, lower Bundesliga academy level yes but not a team that will just buy over him. We'll see.
I think these clubs have scouts who have viewed these players substantially more, and have a better idea of how talented they really are.
I can still have a legitimate opinion. I bet professional scouts disagree all the time. Put me on the side that doesn't think Zyen Jones is good enough for Schalke. Just because he posted it doesn't yet make it so but you assume it does. We'll see.
I thought shaq moore was one of the worse u20 players ive ever seen play for the usa, not as bad as torre but still..... he starts vs A. Madrid a couple years later. I think Jones is a victim of being too athletic which gets him labeled as having no technique. He has 1v1 ability and has crossing and finishing ability. The rest can be improved upon which is probably what Schalke thinks they can achieve.
Yeah I have watched some schalke this year and they field Embolo who has one of the worst first touch ball control skill sets I have seen (outside of Hamburg’s midfielders) in the bundesliga. Maybe he is the same skill set; height weight speed kid of prospects.
Sounds more like Portland. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...spect-eryk-williamson/?utm_term=.961bb63040cc
Starts. First action since returning from his back injury. 1:1 final. Can’t find how much time he got. So geht die #U19 in #Düsseldorf ins Rennen. Viel Erfolg!_________________#schmiede #s04 pic.twitter.com/MZb0BggQfi— Knappenschmiede (@knappenschmiede) February 18, 2018
Looks like he was subbed out in the 61st minute. To be expected in your first match back. https://schalke04.de/knappenschmiede/u19-bundesliga/u19-kehrt-mit-remis-aus-duesseldorf-heim/
Got to watch the game...Nick is pretty good, probably the best dribbler on the team. Should play in the middle, pretty fast, and has the ability to take on more than one defender without hesitation. Give Nick a couple of games and he should be back in match form. Very Very fast, he is a constant threat. His dribbling is insane, very comfortable in tight spaces. I assume they will be managing his minutes, and frankly surprised that he started on a crappy turf field. I am gonna miss the next couple of games but on a side note the crowd that watches the games thinks he is the next one to go up...time will tell though.
I saw the same thing when he played for the U18s last year. Pomykal got player of the tournament but Nick was our best attacker.
Do they see him as the heir to Amine Harit in the attacking midfield role? Harit is a good player and a dangerous dribbler but if he continues to perform I think he’ll end up in Spain or England before too long.
