Why not Ricardo Gareca (Argentina). He has done wonders with a young Peruvian team.

I didn't mean to embarrass you or call you out I just can't help it when someone says something crazy like that.

US soccer needs a coach like Herb Brooks of the 1980 US hockey team. This way we don't have any "soft tattooed millionaires" with no competitive grit.

The way you used "across" can work either way: in all or in some.

I had to deliver packages across four buildings = I had to deliver packages in all four buildings OR I had to deliver packages in some of those buildings so that I still had to cross the whole four-building complex.

You meant the latter, he understood the former. He did not misunderstand you, you just failed to use precise language.

No, it doesn't. And I already explained my use of the word.

Certainly, but the initial confusion came from the imprecision of the term. It's happened to me often here, we have to be very careful in the use of language or else people will understand something very different of what is meant.

Sometimes I read something I just wrote and go over it to use a better word, or explain, or expand. It can be tiresome. But it was not the reader's initial fault.

Across does not mean 'each and every'. Assuming the poster was not a complete idiot, he simply chose a non-valid meaning to further his tendentious 'argument'.

If we don't hire Osorio we will regret it.

    Mark my words people.

Osorio has sold his soul to Mexico. The real man is bought and paid for. We should never consider him for our side, for even were he to accept we'd be looking at the ghost in the machine.

Kreis getting fired from Orlando has dropped him down the pecking order. Shine has really worn off on him.

Finalists from US/MLS in my opinion: Berhalter, Vanney, Marsch, Ramos, Martino.

From abroad: Roberto Martinez, David Wagner, Steve Cherundolo,

From left-field: David Moyes, Avram Grant, Arsene Wenger, Chris Coleman, Frank De Boer, Frank Rijkaard.

A list without Osorio's name is a not a complete list.

What is Dolo up to right now? I haven't followed him very closely since his international retirement. He's one of the few former players that I would be really interested in as a Head Coach, not for this upcoming cycle, but 2026 or 2030.

ramos, wagner, cherundolo shouldn't be on that list

the left field group shouldn't be on the list either there is no reason to make a random out of the box hire next hire is about stability.

he was a good fit before today and is still a good fit.

the us pool is young and has options but there will be a lot of filtering through the mess the next two years as far as players and formations.

that is exactly what he did with mexico and its worked great.

How about the coach of whatever contender flops hard in the group stage? Strike fast while the discount is available.

Osorio is not staying with Mexico even if he pulled a miracle and won the World Cup. The pressure around him is too toxic, and even with today’s performance I doubt frictions wouldn’t arise if he came back.

IIRC Osario rejected an extension offer from Mexico early this year. The word was that he was gone to new challenges regardless of the results at WC2018.

His price likely just went up for anyone requesting his services.

I think it’s a bit early to say, but if the US wants him you need to strike soon, as he’s been in the talk for Colombia’s job.

Mexico 1-0 Germany. Now that is a genuinely* outstanding accomplishment.

    * pending further results in the tournament.

True, but I think Colombia will be open to foreigners first. I think Colombia can outbid for someone like Gareca.
