Yeah, I turned Cortana off. Thanks for the heads-up. I'd prefer to say "Xbox, on" than "hey, Cortana, Xbox on".
Fall (Holiday) update for the Xbone rolls out today. It'll include LFG, clubs, etc. https://majornelson.com/2016/11/10/the-wait-is-over-the-xbox-holiday-update-is-here/?linkId=31007778
I created a BigSoccer Xbox club if anyone is interested. Sent invites to those on here who are also on my friends list. https://account.xbox.com/en-US/clubs/profile?clubid=3379872134843758 Have to figure out a way to change the club profile image ... I think it can only be done thru the console itself.
This finally got me to hunt up the update. I don't know who you invited, Dills, but I sent you a few suggestions. I still remember being so anti-Microsoft and xbox when it first came out. Not until I went over to a friends place and played it did I come around to it. One night of playing Halo2 MP and the next morning I went right to Gamestop and bought one for myself. Halo2 and FIFA were the games I bought, first person I played in FIFA I talked his ear off about that week of English soccer action.
Sleepy Dogs and Burnout Paradise (BC) will be free in December for Games with Gold. I swear if the only money I spent on games this year was for a gold subscription and EA access I'd still have more games to play than I could finish.
External hard drive for some reason went Kaput, so decided I'm gonna just say S-K-Roo it and buy an XboxS. Wish I had this problem during black Friday, still some decent deals out there but nothing like what we saw during the Thanksgiving sale.
I thought I could, but the ease of taking a screenshot or record a clip isn't as smooth... that's my biggest issue without it
I haven't even gotten around to see how it is done without the Kinect. I see I can communicate with Cortana via headset, wouldn't that mean if I am using my headset I could still use the voice commands? the xbox s is incredibly quiet.
press the Xbox guide button on the controller twice and a queue will come up, it'll ask you to press 'Y' to record and 'X' to take a screenshot... and I've tried to use Cortona through a headset and haven't had luck so if you figure that out let me know
So, you can get a free kinect adapter through Microsoft. I contacted microsoft about 2 weeks ago, and got my adapter in the mail today. what you'll need is the serial number from your Xbox One S, your Xbox and the Kinect.. http://www.windowscentral.com/how-claim-free-kinect-adapter-xbox-one-s
Once ya get a hang of the double tap guide button method it isn't that bad of a work around. Only downside is that I have to wait a good half a minute or so to save the video I intended to. Meaning instead of double tapping right after something I want saved I need to continue to play on for a bit and then double tap.
