Daughter is playing in USA Cup this week. Today we met Abu, Dotson, and the new signing Lode. Also got to meet Ali Krieger today. Good day.
“If I’m not going to play here, ultimately I’m going to have to take it somewhere else where I can play. Just not ready in my career yet to take a backseat.” - #MNUFC goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth. https://t.co/r49NlhxJZw— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) July 18, 2019
I guess we wait until official notice, but..... Wilfried Moimbé to join Minnesota United https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2019/wilfried-moimbe-to-join-minnesota-united/ MLS side Minnesota United will shortly sign 30-year-old full-back Wilfried Moimbé, who is a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Ligue 2 side AS Nancy, according to L’Équipe. The ex-Nantes player is expected to complete the move rapidly, with the length of his contract with the United States outfit not yet known.
Athletic (paywall), but from Jeff R. Pretty official. #MNUFC is set to sign French left back Wilfried Moimbé, sources tell @TheAthleticSCCR. Details on the soon-to-be Loons defender, plus what this could mean for Chase Gasper. https://t.co/hYKXY23uHa— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) July 22, 2019 The defender is expected to be joining the club on a short-term deal that gives Minnesota flexibility at the end of the season, making the signing a low-risk move with potential to reward if Moimbé performs well
https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/07/22/armchair-analyst-all-24-mls-teams-review-week-20-analysis . No misery for Minnesota United, who went to RSL and got a super-valuable point courtesy of a 1-1 draw. The fact that they managed it without either Ozzie Alonso or Angelo Rodriguez is a testament to how much more depth this version of the Loons has than in years past, and how much better they are at using it. You've probably heard a lot about Mason Toye. He got the assist in this one. You've probably heard less about Hassani Dotson, and this is me officially making a case for him as the Rookie of the Year front-runner. When Minnesota's starting RB Romain Metanire went off to the African Cup of Nations, led his team to their first-ever appearance in the quarterfinals and was tournament Best XI, Adrian Heath put Dotson in at right back and the team did not miss a beat. When Metanire returned and Alonso
Doyle, having positive things to say about the Loons with absolutely no "Well, let's wait another week" qualifiers. I nearly passed out.
They played this as best as they could. I am 99.9% sure that the the deal that fell through was for the LB. Get a low cost player, who should provide some cover for the LB spot. Doesn't work out? He is on a short term contract. As much as I like Gaspar, he is going to get tired. I wouldn't be surprised if that was it for the summer, but I would still like to see if we can bring in another starter quality CB.
Post: Update on when new #MNUFC midfielder Robin Lod could debut for the #Loons, and one area coach Adrian Heath wants to see the Finnish midfielder improve. https://t.co/LcpCuIRoo9— Andy Greder (@andygreder) July 23, 2019 After making the transfer deal official last Tuesday, the Loons had Lod penciled in for his first game in the U.S. Open Cup semifinals against Portland on Aug. 7.
"What We Get" article from E Pluribus Loonum. https://www.epluribusloonum.com/201...ufc-transfer-mls-youtube-bass-drop-highlights What Moimbé can offer is the ability to attack from more than the right flank. Minnesota ranks dead last in Major League Soccer in its proportion of attacks coming from the left, and is the only team with a double-digit difference between its higher and lower use-rate flanks.
Recognizing that a large part of that is a result of Metanire being so darn freaking good at attacking down the right flank.

Just received word from a team official that he will be known as ‘MOIMBÉ-TAHRAT’ and that’ll be on the back of his jersey. Just an FYI #MNUFC fans 👍🏻 https://t.co/QfhuAGa6Eo— Callum Williams (@CalWilliamsComm) July 23, 2019
Lol...if those Dutch teams could get all of “Vennegoor of Hesselink” on a jersey, I would hope we could,
Sounds like Rasmus Schüller’s time as a Loon is coming to an end, he’ll be transferring back to HJK for the 2020 season. #MNUFC #OnceALoonAlwaysALoon https://t.co/DnzDDqX58k— Mark Fangmeier (@mrfangmeier) July 26, 2019 Waiting on confirmation
