nope. the only international soccer i watch is the world cup. And I don't really pay attention to the players much, just the team. other than that, int'l soccer is boring to me.
always butting in... you're another free-for-aller, so makes sense wow. NEG rep already? Like I care.
I actually know who Archie is, not who wade is. but let's go ahead and compare wes wade to moore who is in one of the most famous world cup pictures. After all, he said he only followed the World Cup and MLS - indeed
Not that this belongs in this forum, but what is wrong with only watching MLS or the World Cup? I can actually go to USA games and MLS games in person. I can watch them on basic cable. Just cause I don't care to watch Ronaldo or Vieri play doesn't mean that I don't like and/or appreciate soccer.
since you follow the World Cup, I thought you would have a little history on it to know who Bobby Moore is. I guess you don't
Let's not and say we didn't. BigSoccer is a community of -all soccer fans- if if the biggest name someone knows is the their 10 year old kid who plays on a local youth team. Not knowing who the greats of the game are or were, shouldn't be a problem, nor a barrier. In fact, it should be an opportunity for those that do know this stuff to help educate those that don't - assuming they want the knowledge. The problem is when folks try to impose themselves on conversations or debates while refusing to learn the history or context. City Ice Man, for one, sticks to the MLS discussions that he knows about. He doesn't show up in the ManU forum or the Italy national team forum, of the Beautiful Game's "who's the best #10 of all time threads". The fact that he doesn't know who Bobby Moore is, and that he probably thinks the Munich Disaster was the Beatles first album - the one with Pete Best on drums - shouldn't be a problem here - as long as he acts accordingly. If he shows a curiousity for some of England's history, or Paraguay's history, or whatever, then the other members here should be more than willing to fill him in.
Sure I do. He's that drunk washed up darts player who wears a cape and candelabra to his events... Oops, wrong Bobby. Nevermind.
So I need to ask you when I can get involved in a conversation and I need to meet your requirements of what is a requisite amount of soccer history knowledge in order to be considered a fan. I love how people like you think you matter more than others when, in reality, that's something completely irrelevant. You could have done something like engaged him in conversation about the game's greats, yet you need to insult and judge. Cute.
You consider "free-for-aller" an insult? doesn't get any more sensitive than that. Are you monster punani?
It's the context, dillweed. You were obviously looking down your nose when you posted it. Don't play the "I'm superior" card and then claim oversensitivity. Can't have it both ways.
