Why oh why oh way, Nike?

Why can't you do shit like that for the 2nd jersey? You'd be totally welcome to....

Black is so 90s/2000s. It started in the NBA in the 90s. NCAA football teams are carrying the trend to ridiculous lengths. I don't like seeing the Mexico team wearing the black and it would suit the USMNT even less. Let New Zealand be the All Blacks. They are the original.

But Nike thinks that teenagers think it's G. And, sadly, they're probably right.

I agree with you I much prefer it as an away kit. If the home kit is black the way has to be white or red?

Why all the calls for Klinsmann's head? Nike is the one that needs to get fired before anyone else. Why do these leftists hate the American flag so much that they'll go with any other color on the rainbow before the shades of red white and blue that are on our flag? There is zero dignity in the way Nike and USSoccer approach jersey designs.

here's the link, not that there's much info.

    http://www.footyheadlines.com/2015/10/leaked-united-states-2016-kit-black.html

It also talks about the new crest reported earlier, which looks like it'll be a reality.

As I've written a few times before, I concur with most of the other posters that this shouldn't be the primary/home jersey. It might look great, but make it the second/away kit. I really want us to settle on one distinctive design (e.g., Waldo!).

not to derail the topic, but here's the new 2016 Japan jersey. As far as I remember, they've always worn blue (Samarai Blue!). But Adidas (not Nike) is putting out this predominately black jersey. I know it has a lot of blue in it, but we're not the only ones and it's not just Nike.

So tired of teams using the black kit when that is not a color of your team at all.

probably because the capitalists at Nike know what sells.

Is it possibly Navy? (the Japan one)

Actually the earlier than normal WC qualifiers does put Nike in an unusual spot. I don't ever remember us starting qualifiers without a new kit

The article does say "Navy", but it looks black. I'm retired Navy, and I can tell you that the uniforms we called "blue" were really black!

Black would look great in the stands given our state of mourning..

We've had the "Denim", we've had the "Centennial", we've had the "Sash", we've had the "Waldo"...

I guess we can officially call this one the "Emo"...maybe it will come with eyeliner and some spiked collars.

We also had the "anthracite" which was a really cool-looking understated kit. I just thought it kind of iffy as a USA team jersey. Helped that we seemed to play well in it though.

After the WWC, it wouldn't surprise me if a black and "volt" kit pops up again in the near future. I'm sure nike wouldn't mind reminding everyone at SoccerHouse where their money is coming from.

Not sure if this has already been discussed in here--I'm a born again Waldo-kit lover but I've noticed there are 2 varieties. One variety has just a big white box on the back where the number would go, and the other has the hoops going all the way around (no number of course). Are both legit?

I prefer the one with the hoops going all the way around btw.

both are legit, but the box ones are "player issue" and allow you to have space to put the numbers in the front and back like on the field.

Thanks. Sadly I wasn't on the bus when it came through town so all I managed was this Umbro knock-off.

I still like it better than the current blue pajama kits and even the bomb-pops.
