I want more DS9 in my Discovery. But I def want more screentime for the supporting cast. And less Klingons. Can't we get more from the Andorians?
I didn't' like Enterprise at all when it came out and gave up on it immediately. I finally watched it last year and rather enjoyed it and the Andorians were a big part of why.
salamander sex. that was that ep with Paris and Janeway right? I hated when Voyager went from somewhat OK to just 7 of 9 being in every scene and the Borg were so overused. To me,Voyager is barely above Enterprise on the rankings.
Yup, I just re-watched that episode last week while I'm binging Voyager (in my quest to rewatch every ST series in order). One thing that annoyed me was how Paris was able to attain Warp 10 and go everywhere, but they abandoned it when he started to de-evolve. If they could figure out how to get him back to a human then why not just adapt the Warp 10 to Voyager, make it home and then do what they did to Paris the entire crew so they don't all de-volve?
That was not a well-constructed episode. Brannon Braga had an off week, that's for sure. But it was fun to watch the actors having to deal with what they seemed to know was a crap script. Robert Duncan McNeill especially had to sell some pretty bad lines, and then on top of that, he has to act like he doesn't have a tongue. Not sure there are exercises they do in acting school that can get you ready for that.
She was also in a great season three time travel episode, where she and Archer have to chase Xindi operatives to 1990s Detroit.
Well, it was REALLY 2004 Greater Los Angeles. Unless Detroit has palm trees and mountains in the distance.
That seems to have been quite common in Hollywood for the longest time. For example, a co-worker from a few years back who'd grown up in Minnesota told me that when watching Little House on the Prairie as a kid, it was so obvious to him that the show was filmed in Southern California rather than in Minnesota where the story took place. As for the Star Trek franchise's various time travels to the viewing audience's present, it was Voyager that went back to the 1990's. IIRC, it was a two-parter that included Sarah Silverman (though she didn't play herself in the way that Wolfman Jack did in the episode of Galactica 1980 in which the Cylons finally reached Earth). -G
Sarah Silverman was good in that episode. And Tuvok had some great lines. In the late 80s, I lived 12 miles north of Mankato. One day, I rode my bike to Mankato, and around town, then back. Not long after that, I was home in the afternoon and LHOTP was on. Paw took the wagon to Mankato. Half the episode had Michal Landon in the mountains anove the tree line. I was damn glad that I didn't take that road to Mankato. Oh, and re: shows that are filmed in LA but set elsewhere. The Mrs. and I moved to Scranton, PA, and our first year correinded with the last season of The Office.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ "Pa" for "Paw." "Michael" for "Michal" "Above" for "avove" "Corresponded" for "correinded." "No pisting after six ponts" will no be "no posting after three pints."

So this was cut from the season finale. Watch it first then.... _______ SPOILERS How does a trill walk and talk? I never noticed anything different in DS9, TNG, etc? So Section 31 is now handing out black insignia's to represent themselves? LOL, I thought they're supposed to be a secret. Also, remember all of those black insignia people on Discovery, so now we know that they're Section 31. Now Georgiou is part of Section 31. That'll go well. I also read that we'll be seeing more of Section 31 in season 2. Just when you think the writers can't do anything worse, they do this.
It seems like it should have been an after credits scene in the finale. Or the first scene from the next season.
Meet Captain Pike http://www.startrek.com/article/meet-discoverys-captain-pike Can't wait until we see who they cast as Spock /sarcasm
Hmm... interesting choice. Anson Mount was certainly good in Hell on Wheels, but other than a TV-movie about SEAL Team Six, that show is the only thing I'd seen him in thus far. It'll be somewhat surreal seeing him in another regular role (especially without the beard). However, this is still a "come full circle" moment for someone who's watched both Star Trek and Hell on Wheels since Colm Meaney first played Chief Miles O'Brien on both TNG and DS9, then played Thomas Durant on HoW. Similarly, it was surreal seeing Bruce Greenwood play Captain Pike in the J.J. Abrams films since I previously remembered watching him play Thomas Veil in perhaps my second-favorite TV show of all time (just behind Twin Peaks), Nowhere Man. -G
He was a fan favorite of some for the upcoming Netflix "The Witcher" show. For the role of Geralt of Rivia, in case that wasn't clear.
