just got the same survey.... asking about potential locations, if I were to be a season ticket holder and such if a new stadium were built...
The lease is up in eight years. The option is for 25 more. This really isn't surprising. A lot has changed in the past 2-3 years alone.
Exactly my thought...but... Right now, a Nordecke season ticket is just above $300. Throw in parking and it's closer to $500. I wonder if parking is included with that price. Are they going to include that and call it "free parking with season tickets" or are they assuming that all season ticket holders will buy parking, whether an official lot or nearby private one? Honestly, if it's near the CBUS route...
Boooo, they wouldn't let me recommend Springfield as the new location for the stadium. EDIT: Seriously, though, for those that have received the survey, where did you put that you'd like to see the stadium?
That's a big leap to just assume that they will include parking. I pay to park in the stadium lot maybe once a year. So that doesn't really have any value for me anyway. Not to mention I have 2 season tickets; even if I routinely drove and parked at the stadium, I wouldn't need a parking pass for each ticket.
Where could we fit a stadium in the Short North or Arena District? I'm not in the area often, but it seems pretty packed as is.
What are the choices? Downtown traffic can be a nightmare so can say Dublin or any suburb they might consider. A lot of planning goes into it. interesting and I hope they do get a new stadium rather than try to upgrade the current one but either is better than nothing b
They listed current location, downtown, Arena District, Franklinton, Short North, Brewery District, and suburbs.
Put it where the LC is or whatever the hell they are calling it now, right next to Huntington Park. There's a small parking lot just west of there that wouldn't be missed. Build a stage with enough indoor seating for a small concert and thank me later.
I would think that empty lot on Nationwide behind Betty's would be a good spot. You could have Nationwide Blvd dead end into the stadium.
I like both these ideas but it looks like the plots are too small, especially with all the train tracks and roads in the area. EDIT: Wait, I'm stupid. That empty lot is yuge.
