Re: Friedel to Aston Villa Great news if it goes through. Possibility of Friedel getting to play a season of European football in 09-10 and Guzan will benefit from the tutelage of the greatest keeper the U.S. has produced.
Re: Friedel to Aston Villa It's going to be weird to see Friedel with an A.V. badge on his chest. He's been at Blackburn so long I thought, he was Blackburn until this past season when some young talent popped up. We all know Villa made a smart, smart move probably their best this off season. If Guzan doesn't pick everything from Freidel he'll be the biggest YA bust in a long, long time. But I'm sure he will benefit in many ways. Purely hypothetical, but what if Villa loaned Guzan to Blackburn? Wouldn't happen but it is food for thought.

Re: Friedel to Aston Villa taken under the wing of one of our finest ever produced isnt exactly horrible for 2-3 years. Its sort of the chemistry we are trying to transfer in the Jozy-McBride experience this summer, but on a more complete scale. I dont mind Friedel being Favre and Guzan being Rodgers just as long as Friedel doesnt pull a retirement-to-unretirement soap opera, it would be good on paper IMO.
Re: Friedel to Aston Villa Friedel will show him the ropes and Guzan will probably get to spell him in Carling Cup matches and against bottom feeders. This is pretty much the best case scenario being realized for Guzan.
Re: Friedel to Aston Villa Rumors are that Robinson is part of a deal that sees Bentley going to Spurs. There is some tricky negotiation going on, so the contingencies are holding things up.
