I would have liked it better if the yellow and blue had been reversed. Also, there was a part of me that would have liked to have seen a green kit.

What's the purpose of the jersey launch now that it's been unveiled?

    Marketing.

Not a fan. I hate the red/blue crest, otherwise its too similar to the last road/alternate kit. I was hoping for something new, either in color scheme or design, this is just more of the same.

    Also from 2014-15:

When the Rapids had the blue kits in 2013-2014 there were some strange matchups with teams like New England and Portland where there wasn't a lot of contrast between the kits, so my guess the league wouldn't allow another blue kit and I bet that makes it tough to get a dark green kit approved as much as we would love it.

As for the jersey launch party, I'm sure they're doing that to generally try to create awareness and buzz around Denver about the home opener, because other than soccer nerds, who in Colorado is going to be seeing this news today and care?

I might have liked it two years ago. Though, I don't understand the insistence of keeping the unreadable red on blue badge. (Why not white on blue?).

But, it aptly sums up the off-season: "Let's keep doing what we're doing - with a couple of unnecessary tweaks thrown in just because."

    YAWN.

    This is a great summary.

I do too. This would actually look much better with either just monochrome red on the yellow, or just put the real &#*)$ thing on there!

Otherwise I like it better than the previous yellow kit, so in a vacuum I think it is a good shirt. (need to know what shorts and socks look like still) It would have been nice to see something different though since it will now be 6 years in a row (including next year) that we will have a "colorado flag" themed kit as an alternate.

It's better than the white kits that plagued many other teams.

Overall though, I think Adidas really phoned-in their designs this year. It's almost as bad as the trash Nike puts out.

Still haven't liked the away kits since we lost the Blue we used to SKC.

JasonMa and wormhole nailed it for me. These are about as creative as our offense.

Sure they're boring, unreadable and ugly, but at least they don't have buckskin fringe . . .

Yikes. I would much prefer fringe over this boring and ugly kit.

But don't forget the short-shorts that went with the fringe jerseys. NOBODY wants to see those ever again.

Ok just a thought here.... as pointed out by Quinn, adidas really made zero effort with the white aways.

Even if this is not really a change, aside from some minor things, I'll take this over ugly and bland white away.

Houston, PDX, Colorado, NYC (both teams), NER (sorta cause it's unique) and ssfc all have good away kits.

I liked the white away, it's one of our colors, although I'd never buy one. Green is too close to burgundy, so I don't see how that could be an alternate jersey. This one is fine, yellow is becoming a bit of a tradition; like it is for Arsenal, and it way different from our and most other teams usual colors with is utilitarian. I'm OK with it, although I'm not a jersey wearer (burgundy T-shirt or scarf and hat).
