AOC either exaggerated , embellished a small rumor or lied. I'm betting toilet water is better than dying of thirst in the desert. For that matter, its better than drinking the water from the Rio Grande. Either way, no one is asking them to come here so if they don't like it, don't come.

A dip during their transition followed by constant growth. I don't know what he's trying to prove exactly.

Can you explain why West Germany was so much more advanced than East Germany, and why so many people died and risked everything trying to escape East for West?

    > West and East Germany was split roughly 2/3 to 1/3.
    > East Germany was the most devastated as a result of WW2 bombing. Major cities destroyed: Dresden, Liepzig, Dassau, Magdeburg, Chemnitz, Halle and Berlin.
    > East Germany has always been historically poorer and less industrialised than the West.
    > Population split was roughly 78/22 pre WWII.
    > Rhine which facilitates trade and ease of transportation situated in West Germany
    > East Germany traditionally the bread basket of Germany. Heavily export oriented relying on exporting agriculture, textiles, light industry relying on outside support (see Southern Italy) East Germany disadvantaged by relying on trade with underdeveloped Eastern European nations. (ie they were underdeveloped relative to West b4 WWII)
    > Economy and wealth of the West was much more appealing to highly skilled/educated workers. West also incentivised defectors with free accommodation, cheap loans, reimbursement for properties left behind. 10% left.
    > East Germany paid approx 100 billion marks in reparation to Russia up to 1950s.
    > Entire USSR had to rebuild itself after devastation of WWII. Western Europe had American (virtually unscathed by war) help.

Despite all of the above East did grow faster than West albeit from a lower base.
Also 57% in E Germany believed they were better off.

A dip, lol. It was a fullblown collapse that was significantly worse than the Great Depression. And it all happened after the move to free markets. So this myth that the Soviet economy and society was collapsing beforehand is false.

Also look at the above population graph. People were leaving in droves post USSR. So the GDP per capita figures and the collapse in output is even worse when you take into consideration that the population was falling

Ukraine GDP still hasn't recovered to its pre USSR levels.

Ukraine is the sick man of Europe, civil war, neo-nazi rallies in public squares. Democratically elected leader deposed by US led coup. Their openly corrupt leader at 4% in opinion polls just lost an election to a comedian with no political experience.

Infrastructure is almost exclusively either built or funded by the public sector. You'd know that of course but by your own admission you're not particularly well informed.

Note: This is also why US infrastructure roads, bridges, sanitation, water delivery etc is in serious decline because it was mainly built by the US before the 80s when US governments were much more left wing.

    Keep on trolling....

If you were as smart as you think, you'd have caught on that Infrastructure, in this context, was not referring to structural.

    You're a bit behind.

You do know it was difficult to do before hand, right dumb ass? Don't you ever think things through? It was a shit hole before and immediately after it takes time to rebuild. This isn't like the time when you first discovered the internet and immediately became an expert on everything because you learned how to use Google.

Immigration continues to trend up under Trump:
    https://www.migrationpolicy.org/programs/data-hub/us-immigration-trends#labor

This whole dog and pony show on the Mexican border is just a distraction so that the number of economic migrants arriving on planes can continue to ramp up while no-one notices.

Earlier you said it was America's responsibility to accept all these immigrants. So what you're saying now is that the responsibility is being fulfilled? You're waffling again.

There may be more immigrants coming because they got word the Dems are letting them in. Someone is also helping them make the trek and Pelosi & Co are closing their eyes. In January they called it a manufactured crisis now it’s a humanitarian issue. The only reason the Dems care about the illegals is because they want their vote in ten or twenty years. That’s the only reason.

Megan Rapinoe using her WC winning platform to make a political statement is very pathetic.

Also , I get that they want equal pay but how can a woman’s team get the equal pay as men if the revenues just aren’t there? Other than the WC ever four years, no one knows or cares about the women’s game.

US Soccer relies on TV, sponsors and revenues from matches for their money so how can that money be distributed evenly to men and women? Other countries get paid by the government but for as long as I remember, that was never the case in America. I recall speaking to some Italian Olympic skiers back in 2002 in Salt Lake City and they told me they got paid $30,000 for each ski run and even more if they won. Traditionally our athletes never would get that type of money and other than sponsors or donations , Other countries also receive that money as well as their salaries but American athletes men or women don’t get both.

The men make money from their clubs not from the national team. Whether you love , hate or think MLS is inferior circuit , at least their is a league in place and players are using it to showcase their talents and earn a living. It’s also growing very steadily and has been turning a profit. I don’t know of any women’s professional league who can claim the same.

You said infrastructure but yet you didn't mean infrastructure, poor stupid you.

I never used the word immigrants to refer to refugees on the southern border. But according to you I meant immigrants.

This is why it is an almighty waste of time talking to you. I've been explaining the difference for over a year. You are a slow-witted ignoramus.

Of course it was. That's why it collapsed and needed the restoration that only a free market could provide. Duh. If you could interpret the chart properly it's all right there screaming at you.

I absolutely did use the word infrastructure, you're just demonstrating how limited your thinking is believing that it has one meaning, and you disproved your initial point while at it dumb dumb.

You're confused. I don't talk with you, I mock you. You don't have much to offer other than that, for almost everyone here. You think otherwise, which is the best part of having you around.
