Looks like CFA/Wanda Group is looking to hire a new NT coach in the range of $8million/year. http://sports.sina.com.cn/n/2011-06-15/10385619811.shtml Looks like a waste of money to me. Should just invest the money in infrastructure and youth soccer....
yeah i saw something similar last night from wild east football http://wildeastfootball.net/2011/06...ey-spending-affect-the-chinese-national-team/ the article linked hiddink and rjikkard to the post. now from your link, the newest update is lippi, donadoni, luis aragones are linked to replace gao hongbo, seriously CFA is this needed?
Just read the link above, interesting article and if China want a new manager then this would be the time because most top leagues have come to an end or are at least on a break and this would be the best time when most managers would be avaliable, however unless it's Hiddink (whose going to Chelsea) all the names mentioned above sound like a terriable idea, big names yeah but little experience managing outside Europe and would almost certainly have a football and culture shock going to China.
dont worry, most of them said "thanks but no thanks" i dont see anyone famous would come coach China. The only ones that would come are either less famous than what FA is looking for or famous ex-players who doesn't have any managerial experience looking for a shot, either way i think its a waste. one coach isn't gonna change everything
is just a fraking stupid way to was 8m yuan, gao is doing good job so far, to have a star as coach is dumb
apparently Wanda Real Estate and Chinese Football Association signed a contract. one of the clauses is CFA must hire a foreign coach within this year. the selected coach will have a three-year contract. if CFA fails to do any of the above, the useless football association will not received the 400 million RMB sponsor. i suggest Gao Hongbo should not be touched at all.
so CFA x Wanda started their coach hunting.. rijkaard say no, he is going to saudi arabia. hiddink say no. i think lippi say no too. many coaches are not interested in china, except for luis aragones news says that if they do find a coach, gao hongbo will still be part of the coaching staff.
cfa said they need a coach to bring china to 'international competitive standard'. i hope their decision won't backfire them lol.
Perhaps not the best time to announce appointment of new coach. This may demoralise coach Gao and some players ahead of the Laos tie.
http://sports.sina.com.cn/n/2011-07-09/04465650005.shtml Luis Aragonés anyone? He watched video tapes of 9 of the NT matches...
indifferent. eventhough he is much better than arie haan, zhu guanghu, or most managers of today. being a fan of gao hongbo, i don't want a foreign coach, such as aragones, breaking up our rare national team harmony. changes are nice, but not necessary useful for our team.
all that money and the best they can do is a coke snorting jobber? goddamn not sure what problem they have with gao. even the most world class coach can't turn shit into chicken salad, so why not stick to someone who's at least seemingly building some harmony in the squad for the first time in a long while.
Might as well hire Blazevic. He knows China and Chinese players very well, he has experience, been to the world cup, and very willing to help China. The only bad thing I can think of is with the Olympic team, but that wasn't really his fault. He took charge too late and technically China beat Oman away if not for the ref. Instead we have Daum with no national team experience, doesn't know jack about China and oh is a ex-drug addict. Or we have Aragones, who is just as old as Blazevic, again knows nothing about China and a board line racist. Yay!
wanda real estate mentioned they want coach that is under the age of 60. blazevic lol-ed at CFA, and said "most Chinese leaders leading a 1.3 billion population country are over the age of 60".
