Yes. The dressing rooms are not ready and it has caused a new row between club and city council.

Is there some brilliant commentary you would like to add here?

Spurs architects favourites for new San Siro
    By Football Italia staff

Populous, the firm behind Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium, is the favourite to design the proposed new San Siro.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Populous is winning a two-horse race with Italo-American architects Manica-Progetto CMR.

Populous boasts over 35 years of experience and more than 3,000 projects, including Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium and Benfica’s Estadio da Luz.

Manica-Progetto CMR, meanwhile, conceived Cagliari’s new stadium – scheduled to open next year.

In the meantime, La Gazzetta writes Milan and Inter must publicise their plans for the new venue on September 24.

The two clubs want to knock down the current San Siro and replace it with a 60,000-seater stadium, as part of a €1.2bn project that also includes a new urban district.

Milan mayor Beppe Sala will then have until October 10 to sign off the plans.

Interesting video today from la repubblica. The first part of the video shows Bari's old home "Stadio della vittoria" how it is being used today and why Bari can no longer play there. The second half talks about the current home Stadio San Nicola. The minister of sport reveals that the city of Bari is actively looking to partner with the private sector to renovate the stadium fully. Repair the roof but also more importantly eliminate the athletic track. Of all the tracked stadiums in italy, the San Nicola remains the one with the most potential IMO

If things start going really well for Bari I can see him selling Napoli, he can make more money with them considering their position where as with us he needs to shell out a lot more to make money

Unlike the city of Naples, the city of Bari looks like it's more willing to play ball when it comes to the stadium. This could be a massive opportunity for ADL and spearheading this project should be coming from him.

But we will see what he is made of.

The San Nicola was built for Italia 90. Might make things easier to renovate and improve.

Are you sure you didn't want to say:

"Omg. Italy is a mess. This sucks. Why does anyone still live in Italy. Don't they want to leave. Italians are losers. What a failure of politics"

    'Council could sell San Siro'
    By Football Italia staff
    [IMG]
Milan mayor Beppe Sala has confirmed that his council is ‘willing’ to sell San Siro to the Rossoneri and Inter for the right price.

San Siro is currently owned by the city of Milan, but its two tenants are increasingly keen on the idea of building their own stadium.

With that in mind, Sala has offered Milan and Inter an alternative to going through with a private build.

“Right now, there are two possibilities on the table: a [new] stadium in San Siro or a stadium in Sesto San Giovanni,” he told Corriere della Sera.

“I’d add a third: we’re willing to sell San Siro, should the possibility be considered.

“The construction of the new stadium is a possibility that we dread, and it obviously wouldn’t be welcome for us, but we’re talking about two privately-owned clubs that, in their rightful interests, could do something like that.

“The council doesn’t want to make any money from San Siro. We’re extremely willing to let a third party perform an assessment, telling us how much it’s worth.

“We have absolutely no need or interest to speculate about San Siro. I estimate San Siro to be worth around €70m

“We could use an independent body as a surveyor, so that there’s no speculation.

“That said, the clubs are within their rights to choose: if they prefer, for reasons of their own, to build a new stadium, that’s what they’ll weigh up.

“I can only try to persuade them with all the possibilities on the table and, right now, I’m also offering this possibility.”

The original plan of the Mercafir stadium died when the Della Valle’s went out the door. Shame, because the project was a real jewel. (However it was always smoke and mirrors IMO)

The new owner Commisso has stressed the need that Fiorentina need a new stadium. He proposed an upgrade to the Franchi that would cost 150 million and would be a similar renovation to what Atalanta are doing with the Gewiss arena. (Demolishing the curves, rebuilding them closer to the field, adding a roof.) The city seemed very open to this solution. It’s unclear to me how this would help Fiorentina’s revenue though.

Stadio Della Roma is a project on perpetual standby. The latest news on it is that mayor has given another guarantee that the stadium will be built, but no word of when they will break ground. There is new hope in the Roma camp that the new government will speed up the process
