Seriously, it was far better the old way. The new home page sucks more than the Canadian national team. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Let me just note that I think the new home page brings BigSoccer into the era of modern, Wordpress, magazine-style homepages. This is a good thing.

One good thing about such magazine-style homepages: they can usually be tweaked to optimize things over time. For instance, I do not believe the current article list below the features works. Ditch the photographs (most of the articles lack photographs anyway) and give me a blurb. That's far, far more useful -- and bonus: it won't look dumb when writers don't have pics with their articles.

I so agree about the new home page being a big step down. Having the articles/blogs running in down the middle is a very convent as opposed to the blocks on the new page. I also think they should bring back the left side nav. panel. Its the easiest way to get around the various forums. And can the new page look any more bland and uninteresting?

Agree its a real let down. I could always check the homepage very quickly and then click on a subscribed board. Don't like the look or feel.

I have no useful suggestions, but fix it, please. It looks horrendous right now!

The new homepage is fine for tablet like the iPad, but as a computer website it is terrible. You guys should seriously consider having two versions, a tablet homepage using an improved version of the "new" homepage, and the "old" homepage as your primary site. Because the "new" homepage is awful. It's so basic it looks like something that was thrown together with Wordpress in 5 minutes.

Not a fan of the look, but it also needs to be cleaned up. Right now, there are 10 spots to have feature blogs, but there are only 4 showing (several multiples). What I really don't like is that MyBigSoccer is down at the bottom. Futher, it says "Login" even though I am already logged in. The login should ALWAYS be at the same location on all pages. And if I am logged in from the home page, please tell me who I am logged in as (think of those computers that have multiple users).

"MY" made it, but still no telling if I need to login or not, and if not who I am.

Another suggestion for the "new" page if you insist on keeping it, re add the MyBigSoccer tab to the front page.

The left side nav links were what I used the most.

Agreed. The best change they could make to the new homepage, is to revert to the old one. I'm so tired of this move toward minimalist webpages. It's great for the small percentage of the world viewing the site from iPads but the rest of us...

No one likes change, but I actually like the new front page. I am sure it will evolve from here, but well done.

Thanks for the feedback. FWIW the stats showed that less than 5% of visits to the homepage clicked the left nav, and 50% of those clicks ended up on MY anyway.

Yeah agree and much better on iPad.

I think there is not enough content density by the time I am on an iMac wide screen

Sites like Guardian or Daily Mail work it much harder - the mail using bigger writing for their audience (;)) - but still higher density than BS.

Now there you go and contradict yourself. Apple on one hand and following the Guardian on the other.

I though you were on of those Lefties.

Hard to see any reason to visit the homepage now - I'll set my bookmark to My BigSoccer to get quick access to the boards.
