Since no one has gotten this right so far, here you go Who: Revolution @ Dynamo When: Sunday, April 17, 2011, 6 pm Where: Robertson Stadium How: Dynamo are 1-2-1 (5pts), coming off a 3-1 win over Vancouver. Revolution are 1-3-1 (6pts), getting their first loss at home vs. RSL's reserve team (literally) What: New England will be without Shalrie Joseph (suspension) and Pat Phalen (suspension) and defender Domi (hamstring). 'Keeper Reis (adductor), defenders Dabo (quads) and Cochrane (hip) might make it. Nothing has been released on Houston, but Ching (ribs) is probably not going to start as of this writing and Taylor (foot) is still doubtful. TV/Radio 11.2, FSH/790 and 850AM If we seriously want to get to the playoffs and make some noise, this is one of those games we have to dominate and win. A bad team missing some of its best players on the road. Keep an eye out for A.J. Soares from UC Berkley. The rookie has been one of the bright spots for New England and is probably yet another great draft pick from Steve Nichol.
I worry about this game. We looked good last week, the guys had a great game and things are coming together, but this is the kind of game that we sometimes fall flat on. Remember the first game in 2008? New England was missing their stars in that game too, and we were coming off a championship. We thought it would be a cakewalk, and lost 3-0. Of course, that wasn't at home, but I could see giving up an early goal on a dumb mistake then fighting 11 defenders for 80 minutes. Hopefully that won't happen and we see a 3-0 Dynamo victory.
As long as we don't give up an early goal we will be fine. Nicol plays for the early goal and if his team gets it he parks the bus in front of goal. 11 players in front of goal and the Dynamo don't have the offensive personnel to break that down. However if we can play an open game like we did versus Vancouver where we make them run a lot, then they will wear down like all northern teams do in this heat.
All-time home record against New England. July 22, 2006: HOU 1-1 NER May 19, 2007: HOU 0-1 NER June 12, 2008: HOU 0-2 NER July 25, 2009: HOU 0-1 NER Oct. 10, 2010: HOU 1-2 NER Not so good.
That poll question is funny. Yesterday while running in the woods I had that brickwall chant in my head, but instead it was "Shalrie's big, but he likes drugs, whoa-oh, whoa-oh." That's all I've got. Oscar don't sell no cheese.
Yes, this is my main point about this game - we OWE these guys! Pretty sure they are the only team that existed from our first yr in '06 that we have never beaten at Robertson...
They're going to come in here to grind out a point. Let's see if we learned anything from the Philly experience.
Hooray! That no talent, Pat 'the Hit-Man' Phelan won't play and as an added bonus, Shalrie 'Super' Joseph won't be there to boss around the middle either- I think our chances are looking better...
I am probably happiest that Reis won't be in goal. Shalrie is a big deal, but Reis is a vocal leader on that team.
That's a great offer. Also, the Revs just signed a Danish striker, but he may not be available Sunday: Revs hope Lekic can boost scoring attack
The Revs beat writer for the Herald tweets that their new forward, Lekic, got his ITC squared away and will be available Sunday.
